Namaskar virendra, thank you for suggestion. learning from my chart i know that till 31 years age how events are happening in my life. so i understand planetary influence in my chart a little. relations with parents, siblings & friends. I dont have other charts to learn but i regularly read articals on vedic astrology. thank you.

I have two charts, with AK on lagna -- mine and a close friend's.

I have:
AK is Merc on Leo lagna - hemmed between two malefics - Sa in Cancer and Sun in Virgo. Is it afflicted?
Note: AK is in parivartana with Sun + Sa is parivartan with Moon (6H)

Other chart:
AK is Moon on Leo lagna - conjunct with Ketu, aspected by exalted Mars (6H) - is this afflicted AK?

Trying to determine what sort of affliction makes a person self-centered or throw him/her in prison.

Let me answer to your questions with my limited knowledge.

1) Atmakaraka in Lagnam ? More concentrating ability. Lagnam is Dhi / intelligence . And Atma is soul . Both to-gether . Also sometimes show good family back ground.
2) Lagnam and AK between TWO malefic ? Unable to get out from the burden of this life. Physically ( asc ) By soul level ( AK ).
3) Parivartha Yoga /Gragha means that I work for you and you work fo me. If Lagna Lord and second are in Parivartha , then it is good for income and job. Lagna is self and 2nd H income. Further Sun + Mercy is Bhudha Adhitya Yogam. ( Intelligence ).
4) To women 6 H moon may gives mensus related problems as Moon is Jala Gragham and 6 H is for disease.
5) Parivarthana between 6 L and 12 L is not too bad . However Moon and Saturn Sambhandha is undesirable. Rest try with house's Karakattuwas.

Second chart. Moon and Kethu in Lagna is a powerful Ganapathi Yogam. Further Moon as AK gives more strength to this Ganapathi Yogam.
Affliction ?? If Moon is aspected by Mars then it is Chandra Mangala Yogam . Fortune after the marriage.
But when Kethu receives Mars aspect ?? Mars is Yogakaraka ... Native may experience unforgetable incidents during Moon ( AK ) Maha Dasa related with his mother /parents.

Self centred ? Rahu in Lagnam self centred . Kethu in Lagnam selfless. A renounciation type.
Kethu in Lagnam ? uncomman habits or appearance . May be with small chin . double chin.
Moon in Lagnam ? Proimnant left eye.

Reg. Chart1 - yes, I do have good intelligence, come from a extremely good family, except for the last few years I had good income and job too. I am not sure about the health issues, they may crop up later in life.

Of course, I did not get the main point I asked about - AK/Lagna in bandhana yoga. I do feel life as a burden some times, but I guess it is same for every one once in a while in life

Did you mean I will not achieve liberation or some thing like that?

Chart2 - He is definitely not selfless (normal, just like any of us). As for the rest - his mother has some spiritual powers - like speaking to spirits, seeing Goddess, predicting events in advance or some thing like that. In fact, few of the females from mother's side do have these special powers. You are right about fortune after marriage - he was direction-less and jobless before marriage but good growth after marriage and specifically after birth of child.

None of the physical traits match - he extremely lean and tall and a little dark (Ketu?) with good looking eyes (Moon?).

But thanks for the pointers. I shall think on those lines.

Thanks for this post. I was trying to find the cause of my mother's death. She died during my AK RAHU period of Breast cancer. Jan 22, 1983

I did not understand your question.

I am aware that RA is 12 from 4H. I bought house on Jan 22 though some highly learned members advised me not to buy due to MA debilitation and Dasa Chidra starting. But, God pushed me to buy house.

Please elaborate your question.

Opinions differ among Gurus regarding Atmakarakas. K.N.Raoji and SJV gurus read AK methods in different way.
K.N.Raoji considers 6 paknets as Charakarakas. SJV Gurus follow 7 planets as Charakarakas.

I think KN Raoji look Karakamsam in Rasi chart ( not sure ) but SJV gurus look the Karakamsa in Navamsa.

But In Rasi AK placement is called Karaka Lagnam , ( Not as Karakamsam. )

Which one I am following ? anyone after checking the validity with known people charts.

Charakaraka matters is little bit advance astrology.
First we should master Rasi and Navamsam . Then we can try Charakarakas.
Basic / foundation is very important.

Atmakara in the 8 house in Gantaka position means incarceration. Death by hanging / death by cutting off the head. Serious injury to head.
Usually Ak is the planet with highest degree . So chances is there for Gantaka Position . Gantaka Position means between watery and firy signs .
But you should look basic factors for LONGIVITY. AJUS.

With basic factors , whether other advance factore are agreeing or not.

nice discussion going on.as in my case my ak(venus) and lagnesh(venus) in tula lagan. i give lot of importance to relationship iam very softspoken emotional and always concerned the way i look and dress like luxuries and strong libido, and in navamsha it is exalted in the 6th house iam very good at sports infact i love sports. generally when ak in lagan or 7th house that persons main concern is relationships.

1) Mismatched libido is the main problem in many relationships. So libido is not a novelty
2) Somanatha Drekkana is the FINAL varga chart which shows high /low libido. ( check saints charts )

That theory of human evolution from apes has not been accepted by all ,Ranbir.
May be one day it may turn out wrong.

I would think the theory of evolution and this may not necessarily be contradictory. Man existed before the avatars came on Earth.
Also believers in life after death do believe that depending on your karma you get to be born as an animal (lower being) or a human being (higher being).

And finally we don't have to have a complex if we have "evolved" from apes. After all there is no denying that Apes may be far more civilized than a good many of us (excluding the readers who may feel offended!)
