I was recently layoff from my position at work, due to mass layoffs that happened around 2500 people were layoff on July 5th 2024. Ever since then I have been appearing for interviews but haven't had any luck in going the distance.
Following are my birth details : DOB: May 3rd 1992,Delhi, India, Time: 4:15 am.
Some more details as per guidelines.

second from March 11th 2011 to August 20th 2014 - very good manager, treated like a family
third from July 28th 2019 to December 13th 2019 (intern) - toxic manager
fourth from July 13th 2020 to December 23rd 2020 (intern) - good manager

@Sishya ji, I am an engineer with Masters from IIT and did MBA in the US. I would love to work in the field of sustainability where i can tackle material related issues by creating a safe environment without chemicals

I am 31 years old (M), feeling lost in life. Any suggestions/insights on how to navigate the situation, particularly on the work front/career/profession? Any other suggestions will be highly appreciated as well. For more context, you can read below:
Unemployed for the last 2.5 years. I had quit my job without a proper plan; I thought I would manage somehow. Have a tendency to be delusional. Since graduating 9 years back, have worked for only 4 years. Quit my 1st job 1.5 years after graduating and sat at home doing nothing for the next 2.5 years. Cut-off ties with all friends and contacts. Eventually applied for and got an admit for MS from a university in US for fall 2019, but cancelled the plan at the last minute due to extreme fear, panic and anxiety. Have struggled with weight (obesity) and have had health issues such as herniated disc and breathing difficulties due to chronic sinusitis.
Fear and anxiety have been a constant companion. Have never been able to work towards something by putting in sustained efforts. Have scraped through academics and whatever work I have done has been through last ditch efforts and by working under pressure of the impending deadline. I have also been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder as a result of extreme avoidant coping behavior. I have constantly avoided doing anything that would have required me to put in sustained efforts for ex. preparing for MBA, pursuing MBA or MS degree, upskilling on my own, etc.
Can’t seem to commit to anything. Never feel like doing a job as I don’t have any skills. Always feel like I need a mentor or a caring figure who can show me a path/vision and help me achieve great results. At the same time, feel like it’s too late as all my peers are doing extremely well. Also, feel like I will never be able to be happy/content ever again.
