When a natural auspicious planet gets destiny’s ways of being “playful” for a limited time it causes loss to the “house” of it’s occupation.

In terms of astrology we take a wider interpretation of the “house”, it invariably includes the house lord.

The loss caused to the aforesaid house is sometimes compensated and sometimes not.

Example:- I have seen plenty of charts with 7th house Jupiter; it does not destroy the marriage, {there may be exception though} at the same time the native does not have such relations with the spouse that may be termed as happy {fourth from the fourth ; the house of happiness} though the positive of 7th Jupiter is that the native occupies more prominent position of recognition, fame etc. than one’s father.

Astrological symbol of Brihaspati in my opinion is Sanskrit गुरुत्व (gurutva). Equivalent to गुरु (guru) +‎ -त्व (-tva) weight, native’s have option to carry the same with the spirit of an optimist or to blame the heavens.

The occult symbol of Jupiter in my humble opinion is weight , the native’s skill to carry the weight that sometimes deteriorate as the burden are put to test.

When 12th Jupiter is positive native incurs less losses compared with the people who face the similar situation in respect of any other planet.
If the 12th Jupiter is negative, the native may find a situation of lack of money for expenses;great opposition at the workplace;despite that he or she is a reasonably happy person.

What about when Jupiter is in lagna? It is supposed to be the best placement. Per your statement, it should destroy the first house of self (and be worst placement?)

Isn't that rule applicable to the "lone" jupiter sitting in any house, and it gets exempted if another planet is in conjunction with him?

Please let me know when Jupiter is in 4th house alone in Libra. Now Jupiter Mahadasha is running.

I heard that it is applicable only when Jupiter is posited alone in a house. Some experts say that when Jupiter is posited with full moon in a house, that house invites trouble. Please throw some light.

No I have not observed such cases. But I have seen the BHAVA suffering in spite if Jupiter's presence in it.
But all such situations the BHAVA is heavily afflicted OR JUP is at BHAVA sandhi, OR at Neech navamsa etc :
Mercury or Venus in such situations can not save the BHAVA. So I dont support the argument of blaming Jupiter. :(

Any Bhava will be weakened if it is aspected by or conjoined by a natural malefic/s or if its lord is functional malefic. The other reason of being weakened is, if its Karaka is posited in it and at the same time aspected by malefics. The quantum of weakening will depend on the quantum of malefic influences on the house. Also see which sign the planet is in and so e.g if it is debilitated, it will only weaken the house. Status of the lord of the house would also play in important role for the concerned house. So the more the number of malefics / weakening factors influencing the house, the more harm would be done to the house. Also we know that any Bhava aspected or conjoined by its lord be it malefic or benefic, is protected.I think if we follow these general principles of classics in an integrated manner, we reach at a better conclusion! And these rules seem to apply well to Jupiter too! Om

Dear Vijay50.

Where you read that BHAVA lord if functional malefic will harm the bhava.
This is not for any argument.
Just due to my curiosity. :)

Thanks.

Dear Subramanianji
Thank you very much for pointing this out for my unqualified statement. Sorry about that. Functional malefics if placed in good Bhava attain strength and do more harm to the Bhava owned but if placed in Dusthana lead to Vipreet RajYoga leading to sudden good effects. Also I needed to qualify that Planets- benefic or malefic, natural or functional in own house always do good to the Bhava they join.
