Hi,
Dwi Guru Yoga is not a name of a Yoga to be found in the astrological shastras, but it is given by the modern authors for the conjunction of Jupiter with Venus. It can be a very great Yoga.
We all know that Brihaspati (Jupiter) is the Guru of the Devas (the good ones) and Sukracarya (Venus) is the Guru of the Asuras (the bad ones). When these tho planets are togheter (but without another planets) can form a very great Yoga, but only in good houses- Kendra (Lagna, 4th, 7th and 10th), trikonas (5th and 9th) and also in 2nd and in 11th house. In a bad house - 3rd, 6th, 8th and 12th house it causes Asura Yoga.
For the results given I will use "Garga Hora" (I do not have it in sanskrit, ony in english).
1. Jupiter- Venus in Lagna:
"Dear to king, inclined to earn more wealth, has more knowledge in policies, very rich and an exponent of scriptures" (Garga Hora).
Ex:
Sri Dinanath Das (April 15, 1974, 3:16, Split, Croatia).
This man has Aquarius Lagna, and there are Jupiter with Venus. He is a devotee Sri Krishna. He knows Vedanta Sutra ("exponent of scriptures").
Krishna Raja Wadiyar (June 4, 1884, 10:18, Mysore, India).
This man had Cancer Lagna, with Jupiter and Venus. All the results of the Yoga appeared in his life. He was the king of Mysore state. He is considered the last real king of India (a dharmic king).
2. Jupiter- Venus in 2nd house:
" Chief among kings, endowed with honor, wealth and army, honors good deeds, praise and valor and successful"
("Garga Hora")
Ex:
Abraham Lincoln (February 12 1809, 7:32, Kentucky, USA). He was the 16th President of the United States. What was the strenght and importance of USA at that moment?- "chief among kings". All the results of the Yoga appeared in his life. He had Aquarius Lagna, and Jupiter and Venus are in 2nd house in Pisces.

I was just thinking about Jupiter and Venus before I enter into this forum as of this current post.
Notice Venus is the karaka and natural ruler of the 7th and Jupiter is the karaka natural ruler of the 9th. The 7th and 9th bhavas flank the 8th bhava - the most malefic bhava.
If both Jupiter and Venus are weak, the 8th bhava runs amok. You can be involved in mass calamities even as you step out into the streets. You can even be prone to psychic disturbances.
If both Jupiter and Venus are strong, the 8th bhava can be harness for useful spiritual energies (Venus and Jupiter belong to the brahmin caste).
If they conjunct, with no other planets, their energies multiply considerably for the good or bad as the case may be, as detailed in this thread.

Since Moon is the other karaka for the 9th, a bright Moon would help, all the more so if the Moon rule good houses.

Dear Khoo, I have not read or hear something like that if the karakas of the 7th and 9th houses are weak, this will create some additional problem for the 8th house. So, I cannot say anything on this. I just try to understand and to apply the teachings found in the books of the authorities like Bhrigu, Garga, Parasara, Jaimini etc. Thanks for your interest.

Serial Killer (September 17 1970, 2:00, Tiervlie, South Africa.
Lagna is in Taurus and Jupiter- Venus are in the 6th house. He is an serial killer, who murdered some boys on sexual grounds (necrophily). So, he was also a homosexual. For homosexuality some yogas are formed by Saturn, Mars and Mercury in 7th house, or by Saturn or Mercury being afflicted by 2 malefic planet, are in 7th or aspect the same. In this case, Saturn aspects 7th house (by rasi drishti) and is himself aspected by 4 malefic planets: Rahu, Ketu, Mars and Mercury. But this is not the main problem. Jupiter- Venus in 6th gives uncontrollable sexual instinct, as per Yoga, I think. He has also Varnada Lagna (VL) in 12th house, which shows, as per Jaimini, demonical attitudes and antisocial activities (like murder).

"Various diseases, strange voice, cruel, praiseworthy, famous and pious of God and Brahmins" (Garga Hora).
Ex:
Berndt Andreas Baader (May 6, 1943, 00:05, Munich, Germany).
This man had Saggitarius Lagna, with Jupiter- Venus in the 7th house. He was a kind a terorist and criminal, and died in prison. Lagna Lord Jupiter in 7th has 0 Dig Bala, so it is weak. For this reason, the good indications of the Yoga was lacking in his life. We can just add that cruelty was his lot.
8. Jupiter- Venus in 8th house:
"Many enemies, enmity without purpose, few children and not interested in scriptures" (Garga Hora).
Ex:
Benito Mussolini (July 29, 1883, 14:10, Preddapio, Italy). He had Scorpio Lagna and Jupiter- Venus in the 8th house in Gemini. He and his fascist regime was an aggresion without reason ("enmity without purpose"). The lack of interest in scriptures forms perfect Asura Yoga.

My observations:
This Yoga is bad in 3rd, 6th, 8th and 12th houses, and good in the rest of the houses. In the 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th makes one spiritual (Sri Vishnu blessings) and in 5th, 9th, 2nd and 11th makes one gainer in material life (Sri Lakshmi blessings). Both planets must be strong to give the results.

i wish to discuss a chart where Ju and Ve are together in 8H of Sagg.
For Ta lagna, both as lagna lord in 8th is bad but being 6L in 8H is VRY.... conjunct 8L in 8H....
birth details are
Feb 10 2008, Pune, 12.55 noon
1. For Ta lagna, Ju is thorough malefic and Ve is completely spoiled....
2. Another Functional malefic Ma 7L/12L in 2H. mutual aspects between Ju, Ve and Ma
3. two best houses 5th and 9th are also aspected by malefic Ma in this chart.
4. Sa being YGK here, is retro conjunct Ke, in bitter enemy's house leo.

Only jupiter spoiled.Mars-venus are neutral in such positions.Mars aspect on 5-9 is no harm at all[being neutral in nature].saturn's leo placement is good[being in retro].

Jupiter-Venus are enemies but that does not mean theire combination is always bad. Depends on what houses each governs (4 total) and where the conjunction occurs.
Ignore most of the stuffs Marian I. wrote... most of them are anecdotal, they haven't been tested on millions of charts. and therefore unreliable.

1.) for basic education we see 2H, 2L
2L Me is in 9H, and in friend's house of Saturn - good
conjunct 4L sun - good
but Sun is also in nakshatra of Mars so again Mars connection is strong
but 2L Me is combust and retro - weakens Mercury
2H has 7/12 Lord Mars - have read that when Mars has any connection with Mer, this will enhance ones mathematical mind but here may effect speech in some unpleasant way
Mars is very strongly connected to mercury, as Not only Mars is housed by mercury sign, Mars also aspects other house of mercury Vi and also aspects Mercury.
As mentioned by Joyd Ji, Mars is neutral so how can we read this? I mean what does Mars and Mer connection here trying to do??
2H is also connected to wealth and speech along with basic edu. so how to analyze if all areas or any one will be affected?
2.) for primary/sec edu, we see 4H, 4L
4L sun and 9/10L saturn exchange but both are bitter enemies. will the exchange strengthen them or it is not good.
4L+5L in 9H is very good but if Mars being neutral how does it modify the yoga and also if sun-saturn enemity weakens the combo.
3. for higher edu we check 9H, 9L
This point is mostly covered above due to sun, Saturn exchange.
and in all the above cases the Lagna Lord is also to be checked, here it is Ve in 8H conjuct 8L.
The main concerns to me are:
- What does Ve and Ju conjunction in 8th say
- How to analyse the mutual aspects between the 3 planets, Mars, Jup and Venus in such houses.
Some other points, I’ll take later.

yes-you have to study more,esply the basics.Don't jump in to analysis at beginning stages of learning.I can give all answers but how far you can able to understand with your starting knowledge?First concentrate on what the planet houses denotes,then functional malefics and functional benefits depending on their placements,then aspects and their real -indepth meaning,In dual lordship,how a planet beheaves in his both signs and so on continues.Neutrality of a planet can be judged in multiple ways.wish you happy learning.

These results are given by Garga Rishi, and thus they are not my creation.
These are very general results, and is likely that they will be changed by the combination of Grahas in a chart. Not even in the case of a single Yoga the results which are given by Rishis will apply 100%, but about this is Jyotish, to be able to judge all the combination/ Yogas etc. in a chart and to understand what will be the outcome.
Thus, if we use your logic, not even one single Yoga of Rishis is worthy to be given consideration, and this is wrong understanding. Thus, these results are not anecdotal (Rishis are not joking).
About the chart given above, Shani in 4th is not that bad, because for Vrishabha Lagna is a Yogakaraka. Also, Shani is in Parivarthana with Surya, which is a good one (4th and 9th Lords). Rahu in 10th is giver of Raja Yoga. Guru is benefited by Shukra, which is Lagna Lord, but Shukra is afflicted by Guru, a dusthana Lord etc. It is not that easy to judge.

These are very general results, and is likely that they will be changed by the combination of Grahas in a chart. Not even in the case of a single Yoga the results which are given by Rishis will apply 100%, but about this is Jyotish, to be able to judge all the combination/ Yogas etc. in a chart and to understand what will be the outcome.
Thus, if we use your logic, not even one single Yoga of Rishis is worthy to be given consideration, and this is wrong understanding. Thus, these results are not anecdotal (Rishis are not joking).
About the chart given above, Shani in 4th is not that bad, because for Vrishabha Lagna is a Yogakaraka. Also, Shani is in Parivarthana with Surya, which is a good one (4th and 9th Lords). Rahu in 10th is giver of Raja Yoga. Guru is benefited by Shukra, which is Lagna Lord, but Shukra is afflicted by Guru, a dusthana Lord etc. It is not that easy to judge.

His time of birth is 1:00 (17 Sept 1970), Tiervlei, Namibia, and thus his Lagna is in Vrishabha, with Guru- Shukra in 6th bhava.
Of course, we must see the entire chart, not only one Yoga. Just a few things from me:
1. Very sinful. Shukra is the 6th Lord in 6th, aspecting the 12th bhava- this makes one very sinful. If the 6th Lord is in 6th, it is a very bad Yoga, because it will aspect the 12th bhava. Another bad Yoga is formed by Shani in 12th aspected by the 8th Lord- both Yogas shows bad station after death due to sins;
2. Homosexuality- this is a must to be seen if someone is not only a killer, but also a killer/ rapist of male children (this for verification of the t.o.b.). Shani- Mangal- Budha influencing the 7th gives homosexuality- here Mangal- Ketu (lords of 7th) are aspected (and aspects) Shani. This is one of the Yogas for this;
3. Sarpa Yoga (partial) is formed by Mangal-Ketu- Budha in a kendra, without another Saumya Graha in a kendra (Rahu alone in 10th is not taking part in this Yoga because is alone).
