Hi Learned Members
I read with an interest one Vedic astrology book to say Sun is the most introverted planet and Saturn the most extroverted planet.
Although in my heart of hearts I knew this all along, but I am still tied to the think of Tropical Astrology that Saturn is introverted, being the fact that he likes to be alone and is given to meditation, thinking things through in case it is not to his best interest, has his own set way of doing things on a personal level etc.
Sun, on the other hand, continuing from the stance of Tropical Astrology, is dynamic, show-off, roars like a lion, likes to give commands in an autocratic fashion, loves to display, shines like the Sun etc.
What is Vedic Astrology stance if we are to go by the Vedic Astrology book that I read?
Vedic acknowledges most of the planetary significations that Tropical Astrology assign to the planets. But then bhavas come in and then there will be a slight twist.
Saturn is the significator of the masses if related to the 4th bhava (this is a well-know fact in the Vedic astrological community although some astrologers in this forum disagree), it is exalted in the 7th bhava of the world of standing and reputation through relationships building (unlike the 10th bhava which is one's stand and reputation through one's deeds, actions and achievements but Saturn rules the 10th bhava as well and Mars is exalted here, showing that you do not have to be too extroverted to carry out your actions and deeds, Mars being a minor outer planet).
Saturn has his own set ways of thinking and doing things.....more so than any other planets as Saturn rules out-worn habits.... But a good Saturn is democratic, and it takes a lot to build up a democracy in any group of people whether it is at the country level, village, city, suburbs, family etc. But Saturn is hard work.....so it needs to reflect a lot to come to the right conclusion and right decision for the path to take......That shows insight and a gift to seeing the other person's point of view.......thus in Vedic culture, extroversion does not mean just being a cheer leader, but rather to have empathy with others and able to work through others, to come down from the pedestal and walk the talk.
So Saturn is an extroverted planet in Vedic Astrology.
Sun is the king, rules others via the edict given to him by God.....He craves authority. But he finds it hard play fully by the democratic rules.....after all, all the planets are already under his command, what more is there for him to discuss.....He is also the governor of the soul, and since the soul is within him, all he need to search within himself to find the answer or solution to any problem. Sun rules the 5th of meditation and is the karaka of the 9th for dharma, what is ordained as his responsibility and duty during this current lifetime, he needs to accept this edict and no need to gain multiple perspectives in general from the masses to rules. Whatever perspectives he need would be given by God, or God chosen officials who are privileged enough to have a chance to interact with him, through God's sleight of hand.
So Sun is an introverted planet in Vedic Astrology.
