Makara Rashi - Starting Sade Sati from Jan 26th

Dear All,

Since People with Makara Rashi will be starting Sade sati from Yesterday, I thought of opening this thread. I understand that some of the strong effects will be visible even days before the actual start of Sade sati. In my case - Dhanur lagna - Saturn is also transiting the lagna. Till now, these are the changes that I have noticed.

1) Some upheavals in office, with changes to Supervisors, also sudden elevation of new people who come as active competitors for your position.
2) An inordinate liking for junk food.
3) No major health changes noticeable.

How does it effect for Makara lagna people with Saturn in lagna ? For Makara lagna, Saturn is a benefic and does not cause harm. Saturn in Saggitarius, in Jupiters house will not cause harm to Makara people.

Please clarify.

For Makara Lagna, Saturn is lord of Maraka hence, according to BPHS it can give negative results too. Rashi gives the mental impact nevertheless.

It might depend on the ashtaka Vargas strength. Also I have read that

If Saturn is a Yogi planet;
or if a person has either the Vishkumbha, Ganda or Parigha nitya yoga,
then Saturn will not cause much harm during Sade Sati, and might give very good results as well.

Anjana Ji,I have makara lagna and makara rasi , saturn exalted in 10th house . Sade sati has created disturbances for me at the office like misunderstanding with co-employees , work load etc. It is making me to have disciplined life.

Hello Makara rashi people, generally speaking first phase of Sade sati is not bad. I'm libra moon sign person and I had a very good time in first phase of Sade sati. Check your Saturn ashtakavarga score in saggitarius, if you have greater than or equal to 3 points then you dont need to worry much about current Saturn transit.

I have 5 points in saggi in Saturn ashtakavarga still I lost my job in Feb just in one month of sade sati start . My saturn is also yogakaraka but retro. Saturn MD started last month too.

Not sure I can help you, but let me try.

Retro or vakri Saturn always give different results than direct motion. Always. Mostly it is negative result and much worse if Shani is enemy of Lagna lord, like Sun and moon. So if you're Cancer or Leo and your Shani is retro/vakri, you will face lot of problems in all Shani antherdasha, sade-sati and dhaiyya.

See, most aastrologers do not understand Vakri phenomenon - planet gains much more strength, and shani not only natural malefic but becomes functional malefic for mars, Jupiter, Moon and Sun ascendants/rashis. Shhani even though farthest from Earth position, will cause tremendous grief. If such person faces a Rahu and Saturn period (or Saturn Rahu ) then it can be really terrible.

Actually all planets cause problems when Retro. For e.g. retro Jupiter in 2nd house.. forget about gaining wealth ever in your whole life. It will simply destroy your family life, all accumulated wealth, and leaves you very poor. I have seen this happen in some people whose horoscopes I saw. Many firsthand accounts are available. and astros won't tell you because they do not want to scare people.

Retro saturn in 8th house. You'll think, oh I have long life, Shani in 8th house,but not so. Its difficult deal with as it is natural karaka of 8th house and if Retro damages the positive results you may expect.

Thanks Suresh Ji for informative post. My natal saturn is functional benefic/Yogakarak. I am experiencing only negative experiences in sade sati and saturn's major period - both these periods started together.. I understand now it should be due to retro saturn only.

Yes, Saturn in 11 is good placement because its upachhaya house. But results still depened on lots of other factors. Saturn is firstly a natural malefic graha, so that nature it doesn;t change. Even if it is functionally benefic for chart, it can give negative results.

Now in Sade-Satti, there is interaction of FARTHEST and slowest-moving planet of solar system, Shani with CLOSEST and fastest-moving Moon. Therefore it causes lot of disturbances at emotional and mental plane. And thus this sade-sati can override effects of prevailing dasha lord, if benefic. If dasha lord is a malefic like Rahu, or Mars, then sade-sati can amplify the negative experiences. Not always, and not for everyone, but one must be prepared for unexpected....

Vakri is a whole subject on which more study needs to be done. As i just said, Saturn being yogakaraka for the chart does not mean its capacity to do harm will change. Shani dasha means hard work, sacrifices, less than expected result, problems, losses of all sort, etc. etc.

Let us understand Vakri at the physical level. it is optical illusion. Shani (or whichever planet) slows down when it gets close to earth, so it appears moving backwards. Like when a fast train overtakes a slow train, we see it as going backwards, but it is not.

Now imagine a small fire burning on side of road, and poisonous gas coming from it. If you drive past it on a motorbike and you breathe the fumes as you pass by, should you drive fast or slow?? Fast, obviously! You want to get away from the poison smoke as fast as possible, Same way when poison shani "SLOWS DOWN" as it goes vakri, it just gives higher dose of its negative energy to that house of native's chart. Hope that this clarifies your doubt - Vakri Shani results do not decrease because its yogakarak.

Hello Sunil Ji, one more thing - since you are Aquarius ascendant, Shani rules 12 house too, and will give some effects of that house. Predominantly negative.

But overall Shani mahadasha will be good I feel. It is second longest for 19 years. Results will improve as time goes by and anyway in your email you said, you're just now in Shani/Shani anterdasha, this part is generally seen to be bad most of the times for lot many people.

Yes, for Aquarius lagna, Guru is a prabal markesh as it governs 2nd house pisces. And also 11 house which is its moolatrikon, these houses are your Dhana and Labha bhavas. But because Jupiter is enemy of ascendant is undesirable in these houses, and can cause hardship to such natives.

Same situation for Leo where Budha (mercury) lords the 2 and 11 houses. Budha is markesh for Leo, causes lot of problems in its dashas. But the key difference is that Jupiter is a heavyweight compared to Mercury, so if he's sitting in a 2nd or 11th house for Leo, or aspecting them, then he tends to bestow good results by overpowering the negative side of budha.

Now, if Mercury was sitting in your 2nd or 11th house, could it counter the negative effects of guru owning those houses?? Doubtful. However , learned experts can give their opinions also.

Hello Mr Sunil, what is your birth details, DOB, POB, etc? Please note I am not astrologer by profession, nor an expert in this. am trying to study patterns and resulting behaviours that might be useful to know.

My experience is that astrology rules by the exceptions, than by the "rules". In other words, standard rules don't work in most charts. After all, they were devised many thousand years ago. How will they work now? It is such a different world - complicated technology we use in daily life, advances in science, technology and medicine that no rushi-muni can ever imagine. All that is not explainable by astro analysis.

Think about how the complex circuits of a computer or satellite works. How a robot does surgery even! I doubt our ancient seers had any foresight into this unfolding of modern era.

I have Aq moon & sade sati will start from mid of 2019 & at the same time my Saturn Maha Dasha will start from April 2018.

I am Makara lagna with moon in AQ

How will be my period during sade sati & MD of saturn. My saturn is placed in 9th house from Lagana with Ashtakavarga scores of 6 in Makara, 4 in Aq & 3 in Pi.
