after taurus and cancer what is the best placement for a moon? (ignore the other aspects! general question)
I think one shouldn't ignore other factors while determining it but in generally moon does well in Aries, Pisces, Libra (rules 10th from swakshetra) , Neechbhang moon.
Neutral - Gemini, Virgo, Capricorn.
Tricky signs for moon despite some ruled by friends - Scorpio, Aquarius, Leo, Sagittarius.

I remember reading somewhere Moon in Cancer in the first house can be bad with regards to some specific aspect. It can make the native moody or depressed or something. I wish I remembered the proper reasoning behind it but I think since first house represents health and self of the native, an emotional moon on it may not be a good placement.
I think moon in the 4th house in a friendly sign is a good placement, but you'd have to see which house moon is ruling as well for that placement to be good.

To cite another example: Moon in the 12th house can signify a spouse who suffers from chronic health issues (7th from it is 6th). Sage Ramana had the placement of Moon in the 12th I think. Perhaps that explains his meditative mind as 12th is the house of loss of self (ego).
