Hi Learned Members
We already know that planet in own sign in dusthana may or may not give Vipareet Raja Yoga. That was the opinion of one astrologers.
I found it is true.
For example, Jupiter in Sagittarius for Cancer Ascendant gives high dusthana effects since the Jupiter ruling of the 9th has no effect since 6th is the 10th of the 9th; the 6th bhava taking over the effects of the 9th as well besides emanating the 6th dusthana effects strongly.
But the astrologer also says SOMETIMES this combination, planet in own sign in dusthan, can counteract dusthana effects.
One possible combination I can think of is Jupiter in Pisces in 8th in Leo ascendant.
Here 10th to 8th is the 5th, so the 5th is more powerful than the 8th. Jupiter in own sign in the 8th in this case contributes to Vipareet Raja Yoga.
Another combination can be seen in Krishna's chart.
There are many Krishna charts including the one rectified by B V Raman.
The one that is revealed by the classics as stated in Veno's website has Venus and Saturn in Libra in the 6th for a Taurus Ascendant.
Here Venus is in its own sign in the dusthana. But it counteracted dusthana effects because Saturn, the planet ruling the highest dharma house (9th) and the highest karma house (10th), is placed together with Venus, and Saturn is exalted too. Saturn in the 6th also gives a tireless worker to achieve one's objective.

So if somebody comes to an astrologer with a chart having an exalted planet in a dushsthana say mercury in virgo for Libra ascendant. What should we say? Is it good or bad?
Astrology is about making accurate future predictions through charts which "represents" soul's prarabdh.
I'm sorry but whatever you've mentioned there is futile.

This is probably the last time I am going to answer anyone in this forum who displays such negativity like this. But it behooves me to do so for this round as I want other members in the forum to learn. Any assertions on me, like saying I have not made any predictions before (the implicit assumption is in the statements you make), even before checking your facts first, in future I am going to just block the person.
You give an example of Mercury in Virgo exalted. Here Mercury rules Gemini which is 10th to 12th. As I have already stated, if not in this thread then in earlier threads (that includes all points I have mentioned till date), this bhava exerts a considerable effect. Here it is the 9th bhava which happens to be a very good house. So Mercury in Virgo for a Libra Ascendant is very good. It is the mirror image of Jupiter in Pisces for a Leo Ascendant. I am not sure why you are doing astrology if such simple analogy you cannot even fathom.
On the other hand to say that I have not done predictions is also not true.....past posts can testify to that. However, even if a person write astrological precepts only and not give predictions (which is not the case for me), the astrological community can easily judge whether the person is making sense in what he writes. There are several categories :
Those precepts that are outright good. Any seasoned astrologer can see that.
Those precepts that are outright worthless.
Those precepts that need to be further tested but for those that go by instincts rather than practices, they will know that they are good.
Those precepts that EVERYONE agree that has to be further tested.
Those precepts that through experience by some in the astrological community prove that the precepts which the person is talking about is true.
Those precepts that by experience by some in the astrological community prove that the precepts which the person is talking about is not true.
Anything spiritual undertakings, which include jyotish, with no evil intentions (selfishness, for fame and fortune etc.) is good, even if only it is the fact that the person writes only and not make predictions (which is not the case for me - I have also to defend myself as Krishna advises Arjuna in Bhagavat Gita). And spiritual undertakings always help to get to know the Lord better - one of which is knowledge.

You're taking things personally, which quite frankly is not the connotation my message to you was in at.
We're all here to learn and expand our knowledge of astrology.
Also, Mercury in Virgo for me with my Libra rising has been horrible. It's DBA through my life has been rather less than mediocre. You can now give me tens of thousands of reasons for it to be bad for me. But that'd all be hindsight.
You said it should be good. I've always read everywhere that it should be should. But it's NOT.
Basically, mercury is in the star of Moon (placed in 6th house) and sub of Saturn (placed is 12th house with Mercury itself).
So it can exhibit properties of these houses only (9,12 from Mercury itself), (6,10 from Moon) & (4,5,12 from Saturn)
That makes the Mercury a garbage planet for me. Also, for your information Saturn the Yogakaraka has been biggest garbage for this Tula lagna native.
You have wrote tons on Saturn being the best planet for Tula lagna native.
All in all astrology is just science mate. If Newton can be wrong with time so can Parashara be.
Thanks,

Couple of Insights for you Khoo and Please don't take it as insult to what you've said.
1. Astrology is not Vedic. Vedas have nothing to do with astrology as its not advocated in any of the 4 Vedas or Vedangas or Upvedas.
2. Indra, Agni, Varuna, Marut Kumars and Pushan are primary Vedic Gods. Brahma is just a post like CEO or MD. There is no Shiva in vedas though by description "Soma" is the god with closest resemblance to Shiva. And there is NO Vishnu, Rama, Krishna and other names you think of as Gods.
3. There is little empricial evidence that Mahabharata actually happened somewhere in time. Let alone the story that goes in it about Krishna & Arjuna and Shree Madbhagwat.
4. It'd be naive to think that you chose to pick up astrology. It picked you.
Om Asato Ma Sadgamaya..
Thanks,

1 Vedic Astrology is called "Jyotish" which means "the light" which technically is a Vedanga or limb of the Vedas.
2. There are many references in the scripture which point to Krishna as the primary God. He created everything including Brahma and even the different forms of Vishnu.
3. Mahabharata actually happened and there is evidence from the scriptures.
4. I never say I pick astrology. Where did you get that hairbrain idea from what I wrote? In my case astrology pick me is because my strength is primarily from the Navamsa.
I am going to block you.

I'm not replying to your messages as you're clearly sounding of someone with IQ of his age.
Feel free to block me, I'm sure its gonna make you a better astrologer.

Khoo Sir,
It is interesting that you mentioned Lord Krishna's horoscope.
I myself have Taurus ascendant with Venus in 6th(conjunct 3rd lord Moon and Rahu). I read in your other post about dushtanas about the example you gave of George Washington's chart. Does the same apply here - 3rd lord moon(malefic waning) with enemies Rahu and Venus in 6th. How would this kind of VPRY manifest itself ?
Should I take this as 10th from 6th is 3rd. Since 6th is stronger than 3rd, dusthana effects are pronounced, and hence no Vipareeta Raja Yoga, for Venus. The 6th house doesn't have any other benefic aspects. Does the fact that Venus is lagna lord and in moolatrikona have any bearing on this?
Thanks

I am Taurus ascendant with venus in 6th/ own house. Venus MD on now with Venus bhukti.
Thinks have gone from bad from worse. I keep waiting for VPRY- it probably is happening in my dreams.
I try and try with no results or negative results. Health is also going now.

Hina,
I was reading another post by Khoo , and it has mention of Venus in 6th for Taurus Lagna to be a pretty good one. It says
"Venus in Libra of course gives hardly any disease as according to what is generally discussed in the astrological community ie. natural beneficis in their sign of rulership in the Dusthana."
May be Venus is not the cause and we need a more holistic look at ur chart?

Quite possible, venus is not the culprit but I dont' think so because currently I am running Venus/ Venus. Things have really gone south for me since the start of the dasha. I do have 8L sitting in 6th with 6L. also, malefic aspect of debilitated shani from 12thouse. Aspect of rahu from 10th house

We may interpret a planet in own sign dusthana by both ascendent and moon.
I have multrikona saturn in 8th house, I feel it enables me to see through hidden meanings and accuracy in prediction because not only 8th is house of occult but also it occupies 11th from the Janm Rasi.
A dushthana own sign planet may give financial difficulty for a limited time too as it is daridra yoga.
