Saturn is significator of Father for night birth?

Would like to get some views on the above as it seems to be commonly forgotten when astrologers study charts.

BPHS as well as many classical texts make this reference but what exactly does it mean? especially wrt the role Sun plays in a natives chart?

If we take Saturn as father - then would Sun play the role of the native? (makes sense since Sun is always the natural karaka for ones soul?). ...Many astrologers seem to disregard this "rule"and im curious why that is the case....can anyone shed light on this?

In charts that you have studied do you take Saturn to be father if birth is at night?

Many classics (Most important is Phaldeepika by Mantreshwar) writes that Sun is significator of father in daybirth (and for uncle in nightbirth) and Sat is significator of father in night birth (and for uncle in day birth).
The same goes for Moon (significator of mother in night birth) & Ven (significator of mother in day birth) too.

The logic for this is that at night Sun has no power and hence Sat (Sun's son) take charge as father.
However many practitioner use Sun for karaka for father irrespective of TOB.
One reason for this is that this dictum is not supported by any empirical research and secondly Sun is not only karaka for father or own soul rather for the ancestors too. Hence logically father as a member of the chain on ancestors shd be seen from Sun.

I request the members of the forum to share their experience if someone has worked on Sat as karaka for father.
