I just started my shani md last year. Im 29 so it should be an experience. I looked forward to it because jupiter is debilitated 9th lord in my chart. Jupiter dasha was pretty good for me though. Shani is exalted 10 and 11 lord so figured it should be good. We will see!

From the information you provided, Jup has neecha bhanga and also being the 9th lord in 10th it might have given you good effects.

Shani Mahadasha can prove beneficial to person if he is able to absorb and implement the lessons learnt during this period coupled with hard work , perseverance and consistency which are basic traits of task master Saturn. This period would give great opportunities to excel in your desired field ,hence rather than avoiding try embracing this period and you would then realize how benevolent Saturn can be.
As matter of example ,superstar Amitabh Bacchan got numerous opportunities during his shani mahadasha thereby further advancing his career enabling him to establish strong foothold in the Bollywood industry.
Embrace Saturn as your friend - mantra for Shani mahadasha

As matter of fact my own Shani Mahadasha started around 2010 and will continue till 2029.
I also had same initial apprehension before its start ,but after discussion with various learned members i developed more optimistic and humble outlook towards the same.

My saturn MD started around 2010 and it will continue till 2029 and I must say you just need to follow the tide. Saturn can be your best friend if you do work hard and don't run away from your responsibility. As long as you wish to run away from Saturn time period , Saturn will be not pleased after seeing looking this attitude for him.
His message is loud and clear take like seriously and it will show you the reality of this earth by serving both the good side and the negative side.
Sir amitabh bachhan , Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Steve Jobs excel in Saturn period.

There is no escape from Sani. He is the planet of separation, who will take you away from things that are dear to you. He strips you bare until you have tears in your eyes and then restores you back. Generally, during this period, if career takes off, simultaneously you lose your parents or some relative near and dear to you. Best example is to read what Sani did to King Vikramaditya. This is the story read after praying to Sani. During Sani Mahadasa, the effects are exactly like what it was to Vikramaditya.
I am about to start Sa MD on Apr4th 2015 though Sa is exalted in 7th not expecting much. My last few months(Ju-Ra-Mo/Ma) have been terrible lost my project, income reduced, health issues, problems at work place. I can already see what is coming.

as long as venus is well placed, if saturn is exalted in 7, your career will get a big boost in saturn's dasha.

mixed results, nothing too bad to be expected except for de last 8years of this dasha,,, during last 8years of this shani dhasha, rahu maha dahsa starts from lagna, so that period can see an increase in turbulence.

Hi @vyvasvatha manu If you answered my query, Can you please clarify this - " during last 8years of this shani dhasha, rahu maha dahsa starts from lagna, so that period can see an increase in turbulence". rahu MD starting from lagna for 8 years inside Shani MD?

yes punarnava, sorry for not addressing you.
the shani dhasha is with chandra as reference. this is most widely used.
the rahu maha dhasha that i've mentioned is from lagna.
having looked at many charts, i've come up with my own method of using vimshotthari dhasha from chandra and from lagna separately.
this is not widely accepted and have only met criticism for this till now
but it seems to me to give a somewhat a better picture of what is going on.
nevermind, the mention of rahu maha dhasha if it bothers you
but just for the sake of my research, it'd be nice if you can revert back n tell me if those last 8years of shani seemed more rigorous, eventhough i dont expect you to do it 19years from now

Thanks for the clarity. Interesting analysis and I will watch for those 8 years and get back to you if I am still around
Dear vyvasvatha manu ,
Venus is placed in lagna in aries. My career is not going that fine as it used to be till Nov 2014. Sa MD started Apr 2015 and I am feeling like my career is going south.
I am wearing Neelam not sure if I am experiencing any of its effects.

This is very interesting thread. My saturn MD started in 2004. [dob: 04-07-1968; 17.55, Rajahmundry India].
As soon as Saturn MD started, I was posted in a small village with higher salary! Nobody cares about me, my professional skills are now almost coming to zero. Very bad bosses, all negative energy in office. I was able to learn driving, buy a SUV; living alone. No happiness in life, though I have savings. Tried hard to find love, very strangely all ladies I hooked up with got big jobs in foreign countries and gone! Health - suffered with neurological problems, sciatica, lumbar pain etc. Recently started exercising, got lean and stronger these days. Trying hard to change my job, but no big success. Lost my grand parents, one parent during this period. But when Saturn was in Libra recently, I got some good things coming into my life.
Pls note that Saturn in my chart is in Aries and Neecha.
Now let us see other comments :
"mithunwanderer" - "perseverance and consistency which are basic traits of task master Saturn" - yes agreed, happened in my life.
"mithunwanderer" -"his period would give great opportunities to excel in your desired field" - partly YES. but the opportunities I got are not in my desired field; actually the opportunities that I got are not all expected, since they are not my radar.
"Nagesh" - "He is the planet of separation, who will take you away from things that are dear to you. He strips you bare until you have tears in your eyes and then restores you back. Generally, during this period, if career takes off, simultaneously you lose your parents or some relative near and dear to you." Almost 100% correct in my case.
Yes, I was stripped to bare minimum in terms of family life. Many things I wanted were taken away from me. Had tears on numerous occasions due to failures. Lost one parent. Since 2009 I was looking for a better job, though I have one; tried hard, but no success.
Thanks again, for this interesting thread!
