It is this :
The 12th to House A only gives loss or the non-existence of a House A. So for example, 9th house being 12th to the 10th house of career, shows no career aspirations or materializations UNLESS they are ruled by the same sign like a Taurus Ascendant.
It is not true.
In Nadi Astrology and which I alluded to when I talked about it in the post on liturgation, I mention that The 2nd to House A aspects House A 90%.
Therefore if 10th house is strong, even if your Ascendant Lord is placed in 9th house say, there is a 90% aspect on your Ascendant Lord in the house by the planet(s) being strong in the 10th house.
Or even a 12th house person like Ascendant Lord placed there, if the Ascendant has strong planets, the person becomes super charged spiritually.
It is a pity that Classical Astrology omitted the concept of the 2nd house aspect unlike Nadi Astrology.

Classical Astrology is Astrology during Parasara times (and those that immediately came after him).
Nadi Astrology is the time that was the closest in terms of the astrological practice after the Puranas were written. Still there was a wide gap and a lot of astrological knowledge still has been lost.
The term Hinduism was coined by the British when they colonised India. It is a relatively modern term. And of course Vedic Astrology is the term used by the west, when they so called practise "Hindu" Astrology.

we indians call it jyotish
in a book by KN Rao, he mentioned, "I am using the word Hindu astrology not Vedic because according to Swami Dayanand Saraswati Vedas do not contain any predictive astrology".
