While you provide us the details. I would like to mention that I have cited that all planets EXCEPT mercury yield bad results in their periods. So Combust Mercury giving you fruits is acceptable. Regarding rest of planets, we need to see your chart. If you understand carefully a combust planet yeilds bad results infers to the thing that it will yield bad effects. So, if there is a malefic in your 4th house and combust, then obviously it is going to give good results because combustion has shut its maleficence too. In short the planet cannot give its own protection. So effectively with combustion of a malefic planet, Sun has overshadowed its rays and thus preventing you from problems and thus good results coming to surface.
When you say exalted mercury in 4th means it is house no 6 as virgo. So your lagna is Gemini. Mars for gemini is 6th lord and 6th lord in 4th can give you home related unhapiness which looks like has been overcome by combustion here.
Regarding wife, depends on what is your kalatrakaraka. It is not always the 7th lord. It is stronger of Darakaraka, 7th lord and 7th navamsa.

Look at Vimsopaka bala strength of the planet amongst DK Moon, 7th Lord Jupiter and 7th Navamsa Lord Venus. Moon exceeds the strength by being 14.1. Hence kalatrakaraka is moon.
So for married life effects consider moon and its placements etc. No wonder you have a beautiful wife with Moon vargottama and in own house. Moon signifies beauty. Moon is also parvatamsa a very good state in shadvarga scheme. Look at your ashtakvarga score of where moon is placed. 41.. its too good mate. Your wife is very lucky and good for you. Kindly check further pratyantars in case of combust planet antaras. in the same antara of combust planets there will be too many fluctuations and variations in situations. This is because since the antara planet is combust pratyantar dasha planets results predominate.

Jhora does not show combustion if the combust planet is not in the same nakshatra pada. For combustion it is the proximity to the sun that dominates the result of the Kopa planet. Farther from Sun the results start getting better but not full. The full results are obtained only after it crosses the mentioned degree upto which the planet gets combust.

The above quote is never true for me, my venus dasha was extremely fruitful and pleasant ..all my 15 years ..venus heavily combusted by 2 degrees and again in navmasha ...so to sum up combustion never worked for me
