Was reading somewhere that Venus in the Asc also makes one highly materialistic. All 3 of us have it in the lagna so maybe Ketu is trying to teach us a lesson by forcing us to face rejections and humiliations so as to make us more mature ..I don't know. But I do know if there was no Ketu period and had I gone straight from mercury to venus dasha I would have drowned myself in the potion of ecstasy..!!

I keep day dreaming a lot even at work but then reality bites and brings me back with a thud.Maybe the best remedy in malefic periods is to suffer through it and bite the bullet but that's easier said than done

Even I day dream a lot, infact too too much. But these days I have learnt to let go off the materialistic thoughts. Not 100%, but close enough. I no longer long for things, but a few times search for things I am passionate about or fancy.

Does Venus at lagna make a person handsome/beautiful or too very concerned abt looks? Are they kind of weak hearted, emotionally weak? And look for people to be helped. Are they kind of victimized domestically in a lighter sense (Eg: Me facing the heat for something that my sister does? ). Are they spendthrift (Ofcourse not after ketu's lessons)

I am not at all concerned about looks, but i look much younger than my age. I am soft hearted and can be taken away very easily. I too am victimized domestically..both at my own house and in laws place,...they think i am too weak, but i am like a lion who does not react easily, and when i react they all run away.

Wow that's a good placement for Mars assuming it does not receive malefic aspects.Mars periods/sub periods should be very good but you won be running is MD until later in life...Just curious is your moon in UBhadra Nakshatra ?

I don't know if venus in lagna makes one beautiful but I can assure you that I am anything but handsome ..!!! Emotional quotient again would be seen by moon and not venus.. I am also extremely ambitious not necessarily money wise but career wise yes but unfortunately have no career to speak of..I have a job yes but no career..!
Venus also is a significator of relationships/marriage and spouse for males so a benefic aspect on the 7th (House of relationships) from Asc is good

Of course,that is ketu's agenda...Will smack you in the gut and once you are down from that gut -wrenching blow and try to get up will kick you and keep kicking you till you are down and out for the count and have neither the courage nor the confidence to get up ..Then will make sure our nose is rubbed into the ground and then will give one final kick in the teeth..!!!

I have been running ketu dasha for the past 7 years and it is coming to an end tommorow..
I can fully empathise with what you all have written here.. My ketu dasha was horrible to say the least.. I was a very ambitious and cheerful person, quite successful in my endeavours too.. But since the start of ketu dasha all I have seen is pain agony and me somehow striking a compromise with life with not much zeal left for ambition.. My failures used to hurt me a lot earlier, but the way my self confidence and ego has been destroyed in this dasha, I no longer feel the pain of failures.. Kinda have got used to them and have found a comfort zone with them..
all friends I made during this dasha eventually backstabbed me, was left with such insecurity in my career and indeed have felt permanent depression throughout..
A very self eroding, confidence hammering dasha to say the least..I hope Venus is good for me.. Btw my Venus is lagnesh - libra ascendant and in 2nd house with mercury and Saturn? What do you think are my prospects in Venus dasha?

Yes moon is in UBhadra Nakshtra. Mars periods were actually good in terms of they gave sudden boost in career, which eventually were lost in the subsequent Rahu periods, but overall I have enjoyed Mars periods because of the success that I got in those periods.

Mine is leo lagna, venus in lagna, rahu in 4th, moon in 8th, jup-mars in 9th, ketu in 10th & sun-mer-sat in 12th.
Rahu and saturn periods were life destroying;, venus, jup, mars periods were good always. Mercury dasha wasnt either great.

This is exactly true for me...word by word.
I guess that is why Ketu is sitting in our career house, because something which we desire the most, God wants us not to get attached to it or get detached from it in this birth. But even then I am not able to give up, i still have two long years to go and may be the end of it.....

I don't know how I look to others, but I give every chance to myself to look and feel good. I mean handsome not only in facial looks, but also being fit, ripped etc.. I just can't get off the gym. Along with prayers workin out helps me feel better. I wish workin out doesn't fall under materialism - category, please no. I am emotional/sentimental as well. I have cancer moon at 7, but unaware of waxing, waning, weak or strong moon. But it is there. You career will take off soon Astro123. Your jail term is over. You are free to live now

some comments here:

--Ketu dasa are in genreal a nusisance even when Ketu is well placed....brining emotional detachments, relationships rifts, problems in child birth....some health issues ...even when Ketu is OK to good for the chart.
The only good thing is it promotes spirituality, study of religious/ occult/ divine sciences if well placed and can help in analytical / serious / career segments ....such as surgery, writing, espionage / covert activities.

--in your chart Ketu is terribly malefic placed in the nakshtra of diametrically opposisite in significations and values Rahu.....and maleficity multiplied conjunct with Gulika.
Period of Ketu are brining out the malefic significations of Gulika also.

and to make matters worse, the start of your Ket period was ....Ket-Ket and Rah transitting over natal Ketu all at the same time...tremendous repelling negative energies of the nodes were at work then.

Any way few more days and you are throuhg ...YK and first house placed Venus will bring carrer and allround progression in life.
