Following three queries for all the learned ppl

I've come across what is called brihat jataka... & I'm going through it. I am studying what is taught hora shashtra and just started learning it. Any clue on how are the two related ? Is hora shashtra a part of brihat jatak.

Besides, I have come across something called brihat parashara, brihat samhita... I tried reading them but everything seems to be the same ? Any clue what is the difference / highlight ?

I have not come across a SINGLE book that is truly logical. In the sense, I'd ask why does mars has drishti on 4 and 8; OR why every planet has drishti on 7th ? I came across one site that made an attempt but nothing concrete. Is there any book or someone who can help understand things logically ?

Dear. Friends,

1. Astrology is part of Veda . We have 1120 branches Vedic literature 5000 years back , refer Vyasa Maha Rishi, 2500 years bck also we had the same 1120 branches Vedic literature, even 1500 ad we had the same intact, later the invaders to the country Bharath looted, either they have taken away to their countries or destroyed. Now we have Vedic literature in 3 branches fully, and 6 branches partially. The presently available information is being taken care of by one Dr Avadhni, on CDs , who worked as director of ECIL, Hyd.,-and Director NIMS, panjagutta, Hyderabad. Single handedly he is trying his level best to make available the information available.

2. In Rig Veda there is lot of astronomical information, western countries are doing research on space and universe basing of that information. Entire information is in coded language, rishies done like that with a view that the information should not fall in wrong hands as it will be misutilised. Astronomy and astrology are two sides of one coin.

3. Even in Purusha sooktham there is lot of secret information of this universe. Upanishads are full of scientific information. Original Laghu Parasara is now in German Library..Bonn.

4. Prof. Of maths and astronomy of madras university, late K. Srinivasa Raghavan, made of lot of research and published three important books..a. Chronology of Maha Bharatham war , b.origin of nakshatras, c ancient Bharath . They are not available in India , only one copy is available at Toranto University, Canada . They are doing lot of research and achiving astonished results.

5. One Dr Laksmana Swami Mudaliar , gynic prof. Madras medical college published a book minor Upanishads, around 1940s this book is not available now anywhere in the world. My copy was snatched away by a friend, did not return it. He proved in garbhopanishad, about the baby in the womb ..from cradle to cremation. He proved in that that what Maha Bharatham and other Upanishads have lot of secret scientific information.


6. Refer Surya siddhanthamu translated by Britishers ...you can understand what is astrology and secrets In the astrology imbedded in coded manner. You must have patience and research then you know the value of it, why they have kept on secret etc.,

7. In Rudram...namakam and chamakam are two parts...namakam deals with Lord Siva. It contains more than 300 kinds of sins committed in various previous births by man ...it's recital is for abolishing of those sins effects. Chamakam deals with Lord Vishnu...fulfillment of Morethan 300 kinds of desires of human being . There is a table at the end of the Rudram...it contains the origin of Vimsottary system, creation of universe, and lot of secrets of universe.

My dear friends we must have patience...read knrao's life history, the dedication and devotion with which the founder of this forum is contributing...moderators on the forum are doing wonderful job to the best of their ability. Read and read ...again& again try to understand the secrets behind each principle by yourself.

Read the book Many Masters & many lives, byDr Weise, or go the website ...catherin and rebirth...the west is looking towards East for understanding about the karma siddhanthamu, rebirth, universe etc.,

I give information about Al Beroni ,1000 ad , in my next post. To understand astrological principles one must acquire vaksuddhi which we can get by talking truth, advancing spiritually.

My Dear Friends,

2. This is my second posting. In this I am giving information regarding the great astrologer of 10 century AD., his name was Al Biruni. He was a great Muslim Astrologer. He reached zenith in giving his predictions due to his learning of original Hindu Astrological works through Sanskrit language at Varanasi. He lived in Varanasi for nearly two decades to master the Sanskrith language in learning and study various original works which were available in thala pathra grandhaas (palm leaves treated with special Ayurvedic oils, so that they canbe preserved from 3 to 5 thousand years). The astrological literature which he mastered is not available in India now. They were either destroyed or available in the Libraries at Germany, Britain , France, Denmark and Portugal etc., etc., he was responsible for spreading Hindu astrology in the middle-east and there from Europe .

He was born in 973 AD in the territory of modern 'Khiva' or Khwarizm. It was situated 50.26 degrees North Latitude and 30.31 East Longtitude at North side to Black Sea.Turky and Iraq are situated at southern side of Black Sea. He lived 75 years and died in 1048. AD., His full name was 'Abu Raihan Mohmad Ibn Ahmad Al Biruni'.
During his childhood he specialised in science and literature at Mr Abulkhair (942-1030 AD) a Christian. Sultan Ghazani Mohamad made a war with king of Khiva or Khwarizm and it was annexed to his kingdom. Mr Al Biruni was caught as a prison of war. He was sent India by Sulthan Ghazani Mohammad with instrucUtions to learn Sanskrit and translate the important information into their language. When Sulthan Gazani Mohammad was destroying cities and temples , and looting India, he was Varanasi in learning Sanskrith and studying various subjects stored in Thala pathra grandhaas . Earlier he went to Greece and mastered Greek language and gone through various subjects of science and philosophy . He was at Varanasi from 1019 AD . He specialised astronomy, astrology, mathematics, science, Upanishads . He enjoyed the reputation of a great astrologer . This was the main cause to become close to the Emperor Rodolf during his last days of life.

He appreciated the approach of Hindu kings to the art and science ie., that the art and science require full protection of kings. Because they alone could free the minds of the scholars from the daily anxieties for the necessities of life. Further it boosts the energies to earn more knowledge, name and fame. Al Biruni and his country men , like Hindus, suffered in the hands of King Ghazani Mohammad . He said Hindus were excellent philosophers , good mathematicians and astronomers. He did not accept blindly the traditions of former ages. He wanted to understand every point . He refused and discarded every thing which did not stand for reason. . He felt a strong inclination towards Indian philosophy. He published his works on Natural Sciences, Optics, Mechanics, Minerology, Chemistry, Astronomy , etc., He wrote detailed books on Hindu astrology because Muslim readers were not acquainted with Hindu methods of astrology and astronomy.. They never had opportunity to study Indian books in depth on Astronomy, Astrology, Mathematics, , Chronology, Mathematical Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Minerology. He also composed more than 20 books on India...they were original compositions and translations by himself.

It is observed from his writings that much informantion reached Bagdad (Iraq) by different channels directly or indirectly. Ie., through Iran from Sanskrith, Pali or Prakritham into Persian language and therefrom into Arabic language. The rulers Iran and Iraq engaged Sanskrith scholars in their darbars, and hospitals to translate Sanskrith information into their languages . They were made translate books from Sanskrith to Arabic language especially Medicine, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Phylosophy,, Astrology, Sarpa Vidya , Visha Vidya ,Vetarinary , Art of Logic, Ethi cs, Politics etc.,

Al Biruni noticed many mistakes in translations and in their copying. This was the main re ason for his mastering Sanskrith language and became scholar. His discriptions of Hindu philosophy was unparalleled. He had given to the Arabic world an authenticated , authoritative , accurate and comprehensive chronology and astronomy, which was not given by any Body ever before.

Al Berini was thorough with Samkhya yoga, Pathanjali yoga, Bhagavad Geetha, Asthadasa Puranas, especially Aadithya, Varaaha, Mathsya Puranas which contained lot of astronomical information. He was thorough with the works of Varaaha Mihira',AryaBhatta, Brahma Guptha, Vasista, Balabhadra, Parasara, Garga, Asitha and Devala besides Thalapathra grandhaas available at Ujjaini, Rajagriha, Nalanda,Thakshasila andVaaranaasi. He also studied Nagarjuna's Rasaayana sastra, which is authority as on date inthis world. He admired the methodology of Indian Astronomy, for example what was the Sphere of this Zodiac? Ans:-

18,712,069,200,000,000 yozanaas (one younare is 8 miles)
Q: What is the distance ofhumanpower of vision can penetrate? Ans: 18,712,069,200 by 365 days - 512.659.43 yozanaas.

According to the Aadithya, Vaayu, and Matsya Puranas the Earth is of egg shape. Not flat as per then western scientists. Earth is surrounded by sea. Now the westerns scientists confirmed the same through the information collected through Sattelites. Information about north and south poles was in Hindu Puranas. he made thorough studies about thidhies, karanaas, yogass, vaaraas, 12 rasies, 7 planets and two shadow planets, it's aspects, fri end ships and enemities. He specialised Laghu Jaathakam, especially on computation of human life on the basis of time of birth itself., different planets' powers , their influences at various ages of the native; whether father of the native was present at the time of birth place of a native or was he far away? Etc., etc., Similar study into the departing soul after death. If birth and deIath took place inthe same star , there is no future birth to the said soul. Regarding Comets and it's effects , he opined that Hindus approach is very lengthy, but very subtle. The under mentioned incident reveals to the readers the quality of his predictions which he could made after specializing Hindu astrology at Varanaasi through Sanskrith Language and going through various original works . The original works were destroyed by the invading ruler around 15th Century AD., The details of the incident in the life of Al Berini:-

This incident took place in the court of Sulthan Gazani Mohamad. One day the Sulthan sat in his 4 door summer house in the garden of 1000 trees. He asked Al Beruini to forecast by his knowledge of stars, by which door the king would leave the building? Al Beruini complied with his command by writing his answer secretly on a slip of paper and it was placed under the quilt.The Sulthan asked his men to make a hole in the Eastern wall and he left the summer house through the hole in the eastern wall. Then he called Al Beruini's prognostication and found it true to his surprise. It was written on the slip of paper that the King will go out by none of the four doors, but an opening will be made in the eastern wall through he will leave the building. Sulthan who wanted to make fool Al Berini , was so furious and ordered his men to cast him down from the roof. His fall saved by a mosquito curtain and was brought again before Sulthan. Sulthan asked him whether he had foreseen this? He produced his pocket notebook wherein it was written that "today I shall be cast down from a high place , but reach the earth in safety and arise sound in body. Now the Sulthan was more upset and asked him to confine to his fort. He was released only after 6 months . Later he left the country and came close to th Emperor Rodolf.

This is my fourth posting, and I am giving here under the origin of week system, which is the same in the order of existance In every country .

1.during Pre Vedic period,the rishies instituted the Nakshatra system for among days and Thidhi system is used for civil and legal purposes. A day was defined with respect to the position of the Sun in 12 Rasies in relation to the Moon's phase. The colander month and the colander date of present day were not used by them to denote the day.

2. In measurement of time , the Hora plays vital role in 12 houses of zodiac . Each hora rules 15 degrees. Thus each raasi covers 2 hours and 12 Rasies cover 24 hours. The origin of the modern word hour came from the word "hora". The word hora is a coined word two Sanskrith words...(1) Aho & (2) Raathram. Aho means day time and Raathram means night. Thus one day time and one night time is called full day of 24 hours. In the Hindu astrology the day commences from the moment of Sunrise and ends with next day Sunrise. In other system the day commences from the mid-night and ends with next day mid night 12 o clock,. That is zero hour. This system is prevalent in India Al's o e noire world. The present situation is the result of Britishers' rule mst of the world including India . People accustomed to this system of colander and date thrusted by British. They introduced for their convenience when railway and telegram system introduced in their ruled areas. This isnot backed by any system or principle of Astronomy or Astrology , ie, Vedic Literaure.

3. The week and week days have been in use even from Pre-Vedic period. They were exclusively used for astrological purposes and intended for doing yagna and yaagaas . Jyotisha Vedaanga was written by Mahathma
Lagna da to help rishies to perform Vedic rituals, in proper season. There is a Sanskrit sloka in "Atharva Jyotisha", verse. 13., that reads as follows:-

Aditya Somo Bhomecha thath Budha Brihaspathi Bhargava sanaischai ethe Saptha Dinaadhipa..( weekdays are in order)...it means

1. Aditya.....Sun.....Sunday, (2) Somo....Moon....Monday. (3) Bhomocha....Mars....Thuesday,
4. Bhushan....Mercury....Wednesday, (5)Brihaspathi....Jupiter ....Thursday (6)Bhargava....Venus...Friday
(7)sanaischai....Saturn....Saturday.

Seven planets cited above exercise over the seven days of the week , otherwise known a 'Vaara' which tern insanskrith means again and again...Vaaram Vaaram. Evidences about the existance of week system can be found in Ramaayanam and Maha Bharatham, written by great rishies Vaalmiki and Vyasa Maharishi.

1. Vaalmiki Ramayana, Ayodhya kaanda , Sarga 26: Seetha tells Rama on the first day of exile ....today is Thursday combined with Pushyami.
2.Brahma Vaivartha Puranas...Gaarga Maharishi told to Yasoda and Nanda raja to do jathaka karmaadhi ceremony to Sri Krishna (namakaranam) on Chathurdasi Thidhi, Revathi Nakshatra , Guruvaaram
3. Maha Bharatham in Aswamedha parvam, it is clearly stated that the Pandavaas commenced their journey in search of gold on Sunday.

THE PRINCIPLE FOR THE NAMING WEEK:-

The planets are revolving around us in the following order according to the Sidereal periods of revolution:-
1. Saturn .... 10,759.22 earth days, (2) Jupiter....4,332.58 days, (3) Mars....686.98 days (4) Sun ....365.26 days, (5) Venus....224.70 days (6) Mercury 87.97 days, (7) Moon 27.32 days. (please note the point is decimal point) . The first hour of Saturday from Sun rise is Saturn's hour. Every following hour is assigned to a planet in the above cited order. The 25th hour is Sun's Hour, that is the first hour of next day to Saturday is Sunday ....Sunday first hour starts with The Sun. , in the same way other days of the week named. The astrological principle behind this is that every hour of the day is associated with a planet. The week days are recorded from the Sunrise at Kurukshetra at the Latitude 30 degrees North, and Longtitude at 77 East. (that is five hours eight minutes in advance to Greenwhich time). Ujjaini /Avanthi is at Latitude 23 degrees North and 75.45 degrees East that is 5 hours 3 minutes advance to Greenwhich time.

The pre-Vedic rishies had given to the Hindus a most important manthra that is Gayathri Manthra...it is a prayer to the Sun planet. Gayathri manthra is recited in all Hindu auspicious and in auspicious ceremonies to the person alive or after death. the Sun is only visible to all of us. The Chief planet-and it is The Sun among the above cited 7 planets . If there is no Sun there is life on this Earth... . he is the creator,developer and destroyer o f life force on this Earth. Hence the Sun is given the prime importance or the first planet of the Week system. Further six planets revolve around the Sun and The Sun does not revolve any of the other six planets. Thus the Week starts with Sunday and ends with Saturday.

The Nakshatra, Thidhi, Yoga, Karana and week day ....these five elements are most important for performance
Of Vedic ceremonies and also for astrological purposes. In India in all the panchaangams of our sacred almanac are five sources of cosmic energy that decide the status of the man's mental, physical, psychological, egocentric and creative energies. Astrological scholar Dundiraj, 15th century AD., wrote a book with the title Jaathakam Aabharanam. In the said book he dealt a chapter exclusively the week day...the characteristics of man.

This is sixth post.in this I am giving information relating to "yoga" in Hindu calender. The present Prabhavaadi 60 years cycle of yuga came into force from 300 AD., Prior to the sixty years cycle there was 5 years yuga cycle was in existence . We have no information available under what circumstances the existed 5 years yuga cycle was replaced and who was the author for the present system. The 5 years cycle was as under:-
(1) First year is called Samnatsaram , it rules Agni, (2) Second year is called Parivatsaram, it rules "Sun",
(3) Third year is called Idi vatsaram , it rules Moon, (4) Fourth year is called Anu vatsaram , it rules Creator Prajaapathi, (5) Fifth year is called "Rudra".

First, second and Fourth years --year is of 12 Lunations synodic periods, whereas Third and Fifth years cover --year is of 13 Lunations. Lunations is termed Luni Solar months. The extra month in the Third and Fifth year is called inter clary month. This is not created by the man in the cosmos . this drama is taking place in the cosmos. Our Rishies took advantage of it. The Yuga beginning was always adjusted to maintain the positions of the Sun and the Moon in Sravista...presently called as Dhanishta., in the beginning if solar month Magha. The Luni-solar month is named after the Nakshathra of the Full Moon during the month...as Chaitra , Visakha, etc., The extra month in the 3rd and 5th years is called inter calary month or Adhika Maasam. In 5 years yuga at the end of Thidhi and Nakshatra combination in a day may repeat. The oldest Vidic calender was sacrificial. The faces of the Moon, the seasons and aayanaas guided the ancient Aryans in measuring time . ...through beginning of the year was altered a number of times to adjust for changing, which will be continued to be what it was in oldest days.

Many panchaangams , the writers , the five years cycle of Yuga was ignored. They are mentioning only 60 years cycle. Very few writers are mentioning the both systems. The five years cycle of yuga is more helpful in predicting weather and political situations on the earth.

We do not find answer to understand what is Manvantharam , but we recite in our daily samkalpam .
Earth is rotating on its own access...called day,
Moon is rotating around around earth..called month,
Earth is moving around Sun under fixed stars in the milky galaxy is called a year.
Sun is also moving withs family members in circle under fixed stars in the Milky Way... Sun's one revolution under the milky way galaxy is called one Manvantharam . Present Manvantharam is called Vaivaswanthare meant haram. Considering the said subject it is possible to determine the position of the Sun, at the commencement of Manvantharam in the galaxy where the Sun is. The Sun is located at 147.5 degrees from the centre of galaxy way with reference to the
1950 equinoxes. It is as under:-

Referee to 1950 Ad plus 3102 years Kali Yuga starting to Christian Era ... Total 5052 plus commencement of the current Manvantharam ...122256000 ..total 122261052.

One Manvantharam is 306.72 million years , one Krita Yuga --0.432 x 10 to the power of six.x 4...1.728 million years total 308.448 years

For 308.408 x 10 th the power of six ----360 degrees,

For 122261052 years ---143 degrees.

Therefore deducting 143 degrees from the location of the Sun , ie., 147.5 degrees it is arrived at 4.5 degrees position of galaxy . Thus it can be said that 0h .18m . Position from the center point of galaxy in Milky Way is a vey sensitive point , the transit of which by Sun allows the major changes in the disposition of the features of the Earth to take place. Therefore 0h position of the galaxy plus or minus is 18 degrees is justified for being set as reference meridian.

The above information is useful in predicting Sunami that hit Japan recently, Uttharakhand, India, tragedy etc., this information comes mathematical astrology.

I want to share important information with you, it is as under:-
1. 1st house /Lagna and it's lord in birth chart or you may call this as D1- reveals the basic nature of this birth/incarnation. In indicates the previous birth sons and virtues' effects that caused this birth. Desire,2.Anger (3) greed (4) delusion or moham (5) pride (madam) and
(6) Jealousy.
3. (1) Desire:- it is craving for something not possessed or not in our control to possess. All human activity is prompted by desire . It is also a great deceiver . The proud man would desire to have honors, malicious revenge on his enemies , pleasures and long life , wealth in abundance through ethical and non ethical means.
A wise man desire will not more than what he may get justly, use soberly, distribute wisely and be cheerful and contended throughout his life.
(2)Anger..it is an emotional reaction expressing displeasure . All evil from anger is born due to lack of discrimination. Anger and desire are great sinners when thy give negative results. To control this one must have patience , understand the situation and develop alertness. Discipline the Mind I not getting angry , practice calmness over the negative feelings.
(3)Greed...it is excessive desire for quick wealth organization. Poverty wants some thing more, luxury wants many things, but Greed wants all things. Duryodhana and Ravana ...both were greedy persons , one for the kingdom an another for power. Best remedy is 'be content what you have' .

1. Dr Nimai Banerjee , The Editor-in-Chief of the Planets & Forecast, an astrological English magazine , dealt about Vurses in monthly issues of August, September, and October 2008.
