The chart belongs to my cousin's wife. She passed out from IIT delhi in 2006 and worked in foreign countries in finance. Currently she is working in geneva and her husband lives in London who is into investment banking.

Her husband also passed out from IIT delhi. They were classmate. Her father is a successful businessman and he runs a broking company in India which is among the top 10 broking companies in India.

She faced a setback in profession, i think around in 2011 or 2010 but I don't know much. However, through her good contacts, she found a good job in Geneva, but after some months of siting idle.

Her husband i.e. my cousin comes from a middle class family.

Rest I don't know much about her as I have not met her much. Her chart was given to me by my cousin's mother as she wanted to know when they would live together.

I believe her lagna scorpio is the correct one.

Thanks for telling about the person, Bob. I got Libra ascendant, like Anuradha ji.

Deeply Combust Mercury and promotion-

I had given prediction to a native on his pending promotion in July 2013. I got the news from him that he got promoted today. He is running Saturn/ Mercury period. Mercury placed in 10th house in taurus along with Sun as Lagna Lord.

Here Mercury is deeply combust within 2 degrees. This proves that combustion is a very insignificant factor while predicting and it does not deny. It is actually a big promotion and the native was told earlier that the promotion was delayed till october 2013.

Strange are the ways of planets to give surprises.

Hi Bob,
What about the case where Mercury is within 1 degree of the Sun? On JHora, this shows up as planetary war, and I am remember another member made a post saying that planets within one degree of each other cause serious problems, but I've also read that the Sun and the Moon are not considered for planetary wars.

Planetary War is still a controversial concept. Commonly followed rule is that a planet with lower degrees wins the war.

In the first case, it is Mars who wins the war but the power of Mars is doubtful as it is debilitated here. Was his childhood a bullied/ abuse affair?

Yes, he had difficulties with peers during secondary school.
What about the second case? In that case Sun wins the war according to Jhora, but I've read articles saying that Sun/Moon don't get involved in wars.

Thanks for confirming.

Yes you are right. Sun is excluded from planetary war. There is a nice article on planetary war by Paul. You can read that.

Bob,

I remember hearing an astrologer say in an astrology program on TV many years back that Mercury is the only planet which is not damaged due to combustion. He also mentioned this that Mercury being closest to Sun, it is combust in most charts. Coming to the charts I have seen. Mercury combust has never given problems.

Now, in case of the person you have mentioned, Mercury placed in the 10th house, even though combust, obviously shows something positive in respect to career, which has happened.

How that TV wala astrologer can say that mercury is the only planet that is not combust? He is wrong here. Probably he has not studied geography and so does not know that mercury is the only planet that is closest to the sun.

Bob,

Brilliant prediction by you! Way to go, man! But tell me something, what is the astrological reason behind your saying that person got bullied in his childhood?

Bob,

You didn't read my post properly. I said the astrologer had said that Mercury gets combust in most charts as it is the closest to the Sun, but it is the only planet, which doesn't get affected by combustion.

tell me one thing, yellow dear, if you burn your hand or your hand catches fire, will it not affect you or isn't your hand damaged due to burnt? If a planet is combust, does it mean it is still healthy? Right?

Bob,

I agree with what you are saying, but then, it's not my point of view, but that of the astrologer, who used to come on TV. Believe me, he was really really good in astrology because the way he used to explain the situations in people's lives as per their birth charts was simply amazing.

Bob,

He was a local astrologer. The name he had taken as an astrologer was Devdas.

Religare,

You are currently studying or working?

Can you confirm if your studies relate to technical line or research line? You love politics? You must have been good in studies.

You don't enjoy good relations with father? Your father must be in govt. service?

You are away from home for your studies or career?

Your health issues in your childhood?
bob_astrologer

Ok yellow. That's great. Did you met him? Is he still alive?

Well, my father consulted him with my chart, Bob. I am sure he is alive, though I don't have any news of him.

I've used this chart many times here.
She is actually the one that created this account and has a keen interest in astro herself.
Notice that there is a shrinkhala in her chart between 9th, 10th and 11th houses.
