I am desperately looking for some help with regards to my son who is 2yrs 3months and still not speaking, recently diagnosed with developmental delays and stamped 'Autism' - he was born on 1-Jan-2011 @ 9:41 AM at Kolkata ( Calcutta formerly ) , India.

I have some idea of astrology but basically a novice. This is what I could gather after researching on the net.

I understand he has Mercury ( lord of speech ) in 10th house ( social interaction is ruled by this house ), Mercury is also in Mute house ( Scorpio ) and Saturn is 3rd from Mercury ( I interpret this as Saturn having slight negative effect ). Add that his Saturn dasha is currently ongoing where Satrun is his lord. I want some help on interpreting all of this together and what effect it has had on my son's speech delays.

Also what is the cause for developmental delays?

Any hope for us?

Sir,
My friend's son has autism as well and so your son's chart interested me. While my friend's son chart has a lot of problems your son's chart has significantly less issues and I am hoping things will be resolved with time. For my analysis,I am using Tropical(Sayana) Ayanamsa + Sidereal zodiac for Nakshatras[this option is available under preferences menu if you are using J-Hora].

-Autism manifests itself as a speech disorder problem and as you have rightly pointed out Saturn's nearly full aspect on Mercury is a troubling feature. In Navamsa also, Saturn has a 75% aspect on Mercury which is a decent aspect. So we can say Saturn has some hold over Mercury. Saturn also happens to be 12L so this is the major source of the problem.
-Houses 3(communication) 2(speech/mouth) have to be looked into as well. Saturn also has a major aspect on 3H 83%, which again is not good. House 3 from Moon/Sun looks better and so the negativity is muted a bit.
-2H is unoccupied and unaspected but 2L Mars is combusted by 6L Sun which again shows obstacles(6H) in speech(2H).This is happening in Capricorn, the house of Saturn. The 2L from Moon/Sun is Saturn which is exalted so the problem intensity stands reduced.

Enough with the negatives. Jupiter in lagna/own house(Hamsa yoga), Venus in 9H and to top it off Moon and Mercury are in 10H. So basically all the benefics are in kendras/trines. This provides a lot of stability/support/fortune to the native. Jupiter fortunately aspects Saturn 83% and is awfully close in Navamsa. So through Guru's(Sadhu/elders/pontiffs) blessings Saturn can be contained.

Dear Bali,
Can you help me with the meaning of this?

1. Saturn also happens to be 12L so this is the major source of the problem. - Does 12L mean lord of the 12th house?
2. Saturn also has a major aspect on 3H 83% - Does 3H mean 3rd house from lagna.
3. 2H is unoccupied and unaspected - not sure if 2H means 2nd house, but if so then he has Jupiter and Uranus in 2nd house from lagna. Also Saturn aspects the 2nd house.
4. This is happening in Capricorn, the house of Saturn. - His Sun and Mars are present in 11th house. Above you said 12th house lord is Saturn. So not sure if there is something wrong here or I am understanding things wrongly.

I am sorry for asking stupid questions and I may be wrong in a few things above - but feel free to correct me.

And thanks for your response.

answers to ur questions:
1& 2 - yes
3. Jupiter is in 1st house(1H). I mentioned in my reply that I use Tropical(Sayana) ayanamsa but sidereal zodiac for nakshatras. If you are using J-Hora you can try out this option under Preferences Menu.
4. The answer to this question is also Sayana aynamsa.

Remedy - Saturn is the one that is causing the hardships and it can be contained by through Jupiter worship(supporting veda pandits(Jupiter-brahmanas); on Thursdays(Guru vara) cows can be fed with jaggery, take your son to Sadhus and have them bless him) , since Jupiter has some hold over Saturn.

But Saturn is also his lagna lord - does Saturn harm his own? I know Saturn is malefic but some people say that Saturn is not malefic to his own.

What is your thought on this?

Sir,
I use tropical ayanamsa + sidereal zodiac for nakshatras. The system that is in vogue is lahiri ayanamsa(used by 99% astrologers). However my teacher uses this system and I have learnt this from him.

I have attached your son's chart that I made in Kala software using this method. In this case Lagna is in Pisces.

You will find ultimately that the findings of Lahiri will be the same as what I have mentioned - Saturn is the one that is creating problems on both mercury as well as 3rd house. Jupiter has an aspect on Saturn so I am hoping strengthening Jupiter will limit the ill effects of Saturn.

Thanks.

I cant view the attachment - it says "You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post." - what do I need to do to see the attachment?

Thanks bali for all the information - I had a suspicion that Saturn was the root of all problems. Next step for me is to learn how to interpret the Sudarshan Chakra - any tips anybody?
