How many gunas for marriage compatibility

You have to match the horoscopes no matter how old you are. Guna point system is one of the factors to consider. If the charts are strong enough then low guna points are normally ignored. In any case it is wiser to avoid same nakshatra or nakshatra lords when considering long term relationships like marriage.

I am sure a more competent astrologer (here or elsewhere) will be able to give you a thorough analysis.

And in Guna milan, as long as it is above 18 it is acceptable, but if you have a Nadi dosha then it is inadvisable. Nadi dosha happens when both of you have the same Nadi Guna (Adi, Madhya, Antya).
