Dear Shrikanthaji,

Very nice article again from you.

As you have stated, only seeing the 7th house in rasi does not help in giving right predicitions many times regarding timing. Timing marriage from 9th house definitely makes sense.

To add a few points, the planets/lord of sign in 2nd house could also help in predicting marriage timing as its for a newly created family.
Also the jupiter transits (especially 1st or 7th from lagna/chandra) are used traditionally. As we know 4th, 8th and 12th transit of jupiter from chandra is not recommended for this auspicious event.
Similarly I feel saturn transit should also be favourable.
As moon is important for such an important event, I feel a person should be mentally ready and in positive frame of mind to commit for an event which is a life turning one. Hence gochar should also be taken into consideration. Most of the times benefic gochar and benefic dashas/malefic gochar and malefic dashas are inline.
In villages, where the birth time is difficult to gauge, astrologers generally use transits from moon in giving predictions.

In predicting the events from Mahadasha lord, one of the limitations could be for a person who is running RAhu MD. I have personally experienced that using mean or true nodes changes the house where Rahu is placed.

Please correct me if I am wrong anywhere..I am still learning.

Regards

Shrikanth ji,

Thanks Nice cogent writeup. The standard problem encountered while predicting is choosing one among the many possible periods. For e.g., in Chart 1 if you can explain why the marriage did not happen in Me-Ve-Ju/Ma period or Me-Ma-Ra period that would be helpful.
