That the house is facing South or North is just one parameter and can't determine the overall Vastu of the dwelling but if you are concerned, one remedy is this: clean your dwelling place as much as you can, remove all clutter, then chant OM; that simple.
Auspicious symbols, e.g. a symbol of Ganesha at a clean, proper location at the entrance (above) is another remedy.

according to Vastu (sthapathya Veda) houses facing East or North are only auspicious and then other vastu things inside (like placement) South is the direction of Yama and not so auspicious. Best is to avoid it but I just wanted to know if some one knows a good remedy.
