Dear Esteemed Contributers,
I am writing primarily since I have been facing a horrible time where my money matters are concerned. And I don't know when will this dry spell end.
I start something in my career it comes to a standstill in just few months and I am so frustrated. Like I lost of job few months back for no reason I can explain.
I am aware I have a saturn maha dasha that ends in Dec 2012 and saturn is exhalted in my second house so I have to work hard to achieve success. I am a very new student to astrology and thus finding answers.
When will my career take off and when will I be financially sound. Please help and advise what measures I can take.
Many Thanks

I don't know that Saturn in your 2nd house has anything to do with effort. Effort in career is seen by the 3rd house, which has jupiter in it. The tough time you are having with your career is actually because Mercury, the lord of your 10th house is retrograde, and sitting with ketu. Since this is your atmakaraka, it is giving you a lot of emotional/spiritual stress. Moreover, since Saturn is in your 2nd house, it is aspecting mercury, making it a struggle to get ahead in your career. Saturn represents restriction, regimentation, and organized slow and steady way to come up in life. Ketu is the headless planet that is pulling mercury this way and that, without giving it any direction. Mercury retrograde makes a person very conscious of their own life. They are constantly thinking about their life and very careful about what they say, for fear of being wrong or doing something wrong.
Your 11th house of financial gains through individual effort is ruled by Moon, which is sitting in an enemy placement with Mars. However Sun and Venus are aspecting your 11th house...so during their one of their bhukthis you will get money.

Thank you soooo much greenpeace. I have only started studying and reading more about vedic astrology. Your feedback was really insightful.
After studying what you wrote I have few queries below.
Isnt a planet thats retograde supposed to be good? My Saturn Mahadasha is on until the Dec 2012 after which my Mahadasha of Mercury starts, will that be beneficial on the whole for my career and life if my Mercury is retrograde? Is it a lifelong sort of thing that I will be direction less because of Ketu. Cause unfortunately upuntil now I have had a very directionless career graph
I don't mind working hard and struggling to get ahead in my career. Do you reckon a remedy to lesson Saturns affect aspecting my mercury could help me. And does my Saturn being exhalted in Libra matter at all?
At this point in my life m pretty much wondering if there are any strengths in my overall Chart?
Regards

Mercury Maha dasha will be good. But you have to do something about the 10th house. Rahu is in 10th house and is being aspected by Mercury. The problem with Rahu is it does not like to get aspected by any planet.
I suggest pray Lord Kala Bhairav to appease Rahu. Just a simple prayer will do.

To asnwer your first question about retrogression, you have to know that each planet is unique. There is no rule that says the "retrogression is good" or "retrogression is bad." A retrograde planet often has the counter effect of what it is supposed to have, looking inward on itself. Each retro planet is different depending on the planet itself and its placement.reachkanika wrote: Isnt a planet thats retograde supposed to be good? No, it is not a life-long thing at all. Once you are between the ages of 32-35 Ketu eclipses in your birth chart. Then, we will start looking more at your Navamsa chart (d-9) for clues about what will happen in your life, as Navamsa represents, in certain ways, the second half of life.
Believe me, your chart is not at all weak as a whole. You have an exalted saturn, which although is a malefic adds a lot of structure and life-lessons to your life; and no combust planets at all. Your mars is well placed, as well. More than that your 10th house of career is ruled by jupiter, so once ketu eclipses, you'll be in great shape. Most people in the world have a chart that is in much worse shape than your's.
Up until your mid-30's the purpose of your chart seems to be to focus on the home and home life. We see our purpose in this Birth by looking at the placement of Rahu (4th house), which happens to be our obsession. We see what we have already accomplished in our past Birth by looking at the placement of Ketu (10th house). This is why ketu blocks certian aspects in our lives and prevents them from materializing.
During any dasha, the role of that planet will materialize in your life. So, during Mercury dasha, something relating to your career will materialize in your life.
Good luck!

A retrograde planet often has the counter effect of what it is supposed to have, looking inward on the house that its in. Each retro planet is different depending on the planet itself and its placement. For example, let's take saturn. Saturn normally constricts and constrains, it likes order and slow movement. A retrograde saturn wants expansion and no constraints. So, it's like that.reachkanika wrote: Isnt a planet thats retograde supposed to be good? Thank you so much green peace.
I think you have cleared a lot however wil lI always have a directionless career cause of Ketu. I absolutely hate it cause I have been so direction less out of choice in my career.
Also in my chart I do not have a planet in my 7th house. Could you guide me as to how to understand my future partnership/marriage.
And lastly what you did mention about finances moon is there in my 6th house with mars but like u said it is aspected by venus and the sun. So is it during those bhuktis that I will have inflow of money. Will it always be so extreme for me, having or not having
I once again want to thank you for helping me see things in perpective.

In terms of finances, there really shouldn't be too many highs and lows. Like I said, once you hit your mid-30s, you'll get a lot more financial stability and gradual increase...because sun, venus, and saturn are aspecting it and they are all wealth giving planets.
I think a lot of your anxiety is coming from Mercury being retrograde, ruling your first house of self, and 10th house of career, along with being placed in your 4th house of family. And like I said, a retrograde mercury causes people to worry a lot, by over-thinking all the actions they take, and over-thinking all the events of their lives. I would explain it like this...a normal person is thinking about the past and the present (both in terms of events and causality) 50/50. But mercury retrograde makes you think about past events and their implications on future events to a polarized state. This causes anxiousness.
Pray to Ketu and lord ganesha. I think you will find a lot more peace and direction. Also, you're very close to the age where ketu will soon eclipse your birth-chart, and you will find a lot more clarity and peace of mind.
Good luck

Not having anything in the 7th house is actually the best possible scenario for the 7th house.
It's ruled by Jupiter with Jupiter aspecting it from a very very friendly placement. Moreover, Jupiter represents the husband in one's horoscope. So, when you do get married, it will be a good marriage.
