Perhaps I am missing something - shouldn't your career stream then be dependent on your qualification? Do you want to explain a bit more on the exact query ?

I am more inclined towards the creative field. I believe qualifications can be acquired in the field that one is willing to pursue. My problem is narrowing down where to start from. I am currently working on a project and am hopeful about getting it published sometime next year. The reviews have been quite positive till now. But, as you can see, this is not related to my formal education. I was hoping to find some sort of a clue that would help me understand which direction my career is heading in and what my main source of income would be…

5th house is deemed to be related to creativity as well as what is called as Purva Punya, i.e. the positive karmic credit one gets in this birth due to the good deeds of the past. Your fifth house is Leo and it is loaded with good influences.
It appears that your inclination is right on target. Follow it - creative field is for you and you will do well. From the influences on your creative house and moon, it could be related to writing or photography.
Is your work due to get published sometime post Feb, esp around May 2013? The reaction could be quite well eventually, albeit slow to begin with.

I couldn't be happier to know that my inclination seems to be in the right direction. I have been so completely drawn to both writing and photography/direction for the longest time, but had been feeling a bit uncertain about pursuing them since they are not related to my formal education.
It is amazing that you mentioned photography as well (esp since I hadn’t even asked about it). Your knowledge is honestly commendable!!!
Your time frame is spot on regarding my current project... It is due to get published sometime after Feb and before the end of the summer... May fits in perfectly
