Jupiter in Lagna is a great blessing but
for Capricorn Lagna may be less so.

Jupiter although debilitated gets
neechabhanga Raja Yoga so some
benefits are likely.

As 12L weak in Lagna, may indicate an
unusual advantage or benefit coming like
a "blessing in disguise".

Jupiter's navamsa position, the star lord
and sub lord of Jupiter, its relation to
sign lord Saturn etc are also important.

In short, a chart has to be examined
in detail and in its entirety.

Actually in one of the books published by one Indian Astrologer, Jupiter in Capricorn in an angular house is an indicator of poverty and hardship. This is irregardless of house rulership of Jupiter. But I think Jupiter in Capricorn in 10th or 7th is OK as it is a trinal lord as the same book also says that a planet ruling the 5th or 9th house when placed in the angular house is an indicator of prosperity.

Not so when Jupiter is in the 1st. Oracka Obama is different. He gets Neecha Bhaga Rajayoga by virtue of Saturn's placement together with Jupiter in the 1st in Capricorn.

By the same token, Jupiter is the debilitated lord of a Dusthana house. But the lagna lord has to be strong for the Yoga which nrjtrvd mentioned to take place. Again Oracka Obama chart satisfies this requirement.

Thus Jupiter in Capricorn per se is not good. Of course we can go into the details of Nakshatra lords and Nakshatra pada lords, but at first blush this is the evaluation. Jupiter the natural karaka for fortune, gains and success is debilitated and that is no good.
