I am a qualified software professional having a post graduate degree as well with 17 yrs in the software industry. Everything was going ok till March 2011 when I lost my job because the company decided to close down. I was working very near to my place of birth. Then everything seemed to go downhill. Didn't get a job till July 2011. These 3 months were frustating to say the least. Finally, I got one job but it was in a small relatively unknown company in Hyderabad. I didnt want to join as it was away from my current residence and that I would have to shift everything there (2 kids, their school etc). I decided to join anyway (without shifting my family, I alone went there) there but things were not becoming better. While I was there, my mother had to underwent health problems, she went angioplasty. Once she became better, my wife started having severe back aches.
Nothing was going right so I decided to come back in Dec 2011 (as I too was not enjoying my stay there).
Since then I have been trying hard but not getting much success. I attended 2 interviews but had failures there. It seems everything I am trying, there is an obstacle. No matter what I try, where I apply, nothing clicks. Some hopes come up for sure, but vanish within no time. I tried my hand at doing some business of my own but that too is very very slow progress.

We consulted a few astro's who said things might become better after June but they are still the same. Some say Oct 2012 might change things but I dont see anything happening as I hardly have attended any interviews. Just yesterday someone told that there is a Rahu problem for 14 months which will end in Jan-Feb 2013. Is this true? Can someone throw light as to what really is the problem in the charts?

Will really appreciate any help. Right now I am confused, frustated and all other adjectives that one can think ok. Thanks.

In regards to your query:
Ra/Ke are placed on 4/10 axis in Libra/Aries (lords: Venus/Mars resp) and in NK of Jupiter/Venus.

Ra is well-placed and is conjunct with both its dispositor as well as its NK lord. The reason why last three years were disturbing as you were undergoing Ra-Mer, where Mercury is 3L and 12L. Mercury was retro and it too conjunct with Rahu and is placed in NK of Rahu. Ra-Mer period is therefore stressful for you. Furthermore, in transit, 8L Saturn was transiting over natal Sun (represent father), which may be a reason (I would need the date of the event for exact analysis). Ra-Mer for some reason also gives financial difficulties.

Your next dasha is Ra-Ke (from April 2013 onwards). This period is usually stressful if Ke is not well-disposed. Here Ke is placed in friendly rasi but not in friendly NK. Furthermore, Ke's dispositor is debilitated (gets a neechbhanga). Ra-Ke dasha will create hurdles in career and may take you away from near and dear ones. Mother needs to take care of her health till 2014. You too need to take care of your health till 2014. Ra-Ve dasha will be good for you and will give success in career and exams. It will also bring you general happiness from mother and family.

Remedies:
- Recite Ganesha Atharvarshirsha after offering a red flower to Ganesha idol.
- Recite Kunjika Stotra (twice), Hanuman Chalisa, and Maha Mritunjaya Mantra (11 times) daily
- Do Shiva abhishek regularly with Sugarcane juice.
- Libra is a focal point in your horoscope for the next couple of years, endless prayers to Goddess Mahalakshmi is highly recommended.

Impact of Rahu differs from house to house. Rahu is a shadow planet and it will give effects of the house it is placed in, planets is it conjunct with, and NK lord. Hence the exact impact of Rahu will differ with every individual chart.

2002-2005 rahu- rahu
i was in 3rd or 4th class when this dasha started. my father was called to school to compalin that i am not paying attention to study. i was very naughty in my childhood and also fought with friends. but this instance somehow forced me to study. i went to coaching class to teacher who called my father. i was concentrating a lot on studies. i also learned to play chess, indeed a very good player. i was in discipline because of teacher to whom i am going for coaching. i also joined UCMAS- universal concept of mental amd arithmetic system. it was very good experience for me. i am able to calculate sum amd multiplication very fastly. i changed very much in this period. usually fought with friends, they tried to trouble me. i cam 2nd in 6th class.i was very much happy.i went to jabalpur in state chess competition and cam 5th.

rahu - jupiter 2005 -2007
a period of great luck until 2007 ended. gave state competition of ucmas and did not select but due to fortune, students who were very close to selection was given chance to participate in national competion. i went to chennai and got 50 rank all over india. from there we went to tirupati balaji. we went to beach where i saw some white spots on my leg. it was due to my uncontrolled habits of eating. in 8th class i performed so good in unit test test. i got 233/ 240 was surprised that got full marks in hindi. i also started the treatment of white spots . still i have some white spot remaining but they ar not spreading.
2007- 2010 rahu- sani
the most troubling period of my life but also rewarding one with most troubles. it was the time i was perfoming very good in class. the main thing of this period that i became very ambitious about getting full marks. my father went to astro who wrote them in coming years you would have to face surgery, heart attack, so remain cautious. he went to indore for check up and diagnosed with small tumour. 0n 8th august he went through surgery and doctor found that it was urinary bladder cancer. i was at home i did not know all this. he had only 6months. only my sisters and mother knew about this. i was not told. i lost my father on 22jan 2009. i came to know about his death next morning. everything changed in seconds. i worked very hard from that point. improve my english by joining class. came 3rd in the 10th board. gave maths olympiad but got only three marks out of 100. very upset.

in this period i am very musch interested in mathematics. improved lot in mathemetaics. in 11th class the period between april- august 2011 was very good. got mentor of maths, learned from him. got full marks in maths after a long time. from KV my school selected to participate in regional chess competition. won 6 out of 7 mathches. selected for national.i did not want to go for national because it would affect my studies., but for forced by the teaches. performed well at nationals but did not select. cmae and on 4th september gave maths olympiad exam. its result cameand i got 117th rank with 36 rank. missed the top 100 otherwise would went ot guwhati for training. after 4thh september performed very bad in studies. failed in chemistry. result if maths olympiad came and our maths copy of half yearly were also checked. getting only 40 marks in maths and getting 36 marks in exam like olympiad was totally unexplanable for me. my maths teacher scolded me.

Below is my Rahu-Dasha experience posting here again as i had posted in a separate thread. I am posting here the main events without regards to the exact start and end of ADs.

Birth details :
DoB: 24-March-1977
ToB: 8.55 AM
PoB: Bangalore.

My Rahu dasha is the worst period in my life (till now). It started as soon as i completed my engineering (in aug 1999). I struggled hard to get a job for 1 year (till aug 2000). Then I got a contract job for a period of 1 year (till aug 2001) in a government research lab. From Aug 2001 to March 2004 i was jobless. I turned spiritual and even i got a very good guru also during this time. Even today i am much more interested in spiritual growth than in career. I got a contract job from March 2004 to Feb 2005. Then i got a very good job in MNC and i worked for almost 6.2 years till March 2011. During the stay in this org i went abroad during Nov 2005 to March 2006. Then started bad periods because of bosses and colleagues. I was not even promoted once during my stay there. Out of frustration i quit my job (on 31st March 2011) and joined another MNC on 18thApril 2011. Again problems started due to boss and i was forced to resign on 05-Jan-2012. So till now i am jobless and some small small health problems like migraine and digestion problems. Overall it was tragic days for me in Rahu dasha and i dont know what is in store still in this notorious dasha.

Please let me know when i will get a job. Also i observe there is parivarthana yoga between 12th and 2nd lord (between venus and jupiter) and this is very bad it seems. Any remedies for this?

Thanks for sharing your experiences. We definitely see a pattern. Obsession is common during Rahu MD and so is addiction to all Rahu related things including internet

One thing is that Ra MD will cause a sudden change of course of action even I change my area of expertise/studies thrice.

Rahu is aspected by Yogakarka Mars from Lagna. Rahu is also in close conjunction with Jupiter. Rahu is again aspected by Mars in D-9. Just do Hanuman Chalisa seven times a day by lighting the Diya, it will help you to come out of your weakness and improve your performance in academics.

Your analysis

Vargottam Ra/Ke on 7/1 axis in Libra/Aries and in Nk of Mars/Ketu. Rahu in Nk of dire enemy Mars. There is also a NK parivartan between Rahu and Mars (which is also LL and 8L). The effects of Mars is intensified as it is placed in Aquarius (co-owned by Rahu). I don't think your Moon is particularly afflicted by Rahu or Ketu.

IMO, Ra and Ke are more afflicting your Venus than Moon. Venus is in parivartana with Ju this is not a good parivartana as it takes place between 2L and 12L. Financial gain and kutubh sukh is compromised and gains can only be possible away from place of birth. Venus is not a friend of your LL and is in 6/8 position to MD lord and thus will cause some health related problems as well as problems in service. IMO, Ra-Sun will be problematic whereas Ra-Moon and Ra-Mars will be average.

Current transit will provide some relief after Sept. I can see why you are so uninterested in marital bliss. However, I still feel marriage will take place late in life and there is window of opportunity in 2013. Possibility of meeting spouse in meditation halls, sanctuary, or in seclusion. Venus is retrograde and strong and spouse will be beneficial. Marital life may still have some problems and distress but mostly due to ill-health to wife.

Saindhaviji has already provided you the remedies, I would just add daily recital of Kunjika stotra (twice) and MMM (21 times) daily. D60 (previous life karma) shows that the soul has several debts to be paid.

Care should be taken while driving till Nov 2012.

You are running Rahu-Venus and your Venus is with enemy Sun and in Sandhi (Transition zone).

This is the prime cause of your financial/career related troubles. Otherwise, Rahu-Venus is usually good for finances, though bad for relationship matters.

Recite Lakshmi-Nrisimha Karavalambam followed by Sri Suktam or Lakshmi Gayatri (11 times) and Nava Naga stotram (11 times) during Rahu kalam daily, apart from whatever hymns you're reciting now.

You should get a job after end of September, when Saturn becomes exalted in your 7th house and Mars moves into Scorpio.

But you need to propitiate Venus, Moon and Rahu, as I said Venus is afflicted and Karthik said Moon aspects your Rahu.

Lakshmi-Nrisimha and Nag Stotra for Rahu during Rahu Kalam have been suggested to you because of this.

Lakshmi rules both Moon and Venus.

Moreover, continue reciting other hymns as now.
