Virgo lagnam, saturn lord of 5th and 6th house sitting in third house aspecting my 9th house. 9th house contains 10th lord and 12th lord. Mars the first class malefic for virgo lagna sitting in 10th house and aspecting lgana, 4th and 5th house. Ketu sitting in lagna.

Per my limited knowledge, Mars in 10th per se is not bad as it gets directional strength here. agreed that it is a first rate malefic for virgo asc and the problem I see with this placement is obstructions/interruptions in career (8th lord in 10th house).
Regarding 9th house, 9th lord venus is sitting in 8th house (12th house from 9th representing losses) and this, I think, may explain your reduced luck factor.
Above all, I think, Jupiter (despite being associated with malefic) will keep saving you because of the Hamsa yoga he forms in this position.
