Hi All,
If Venus and Jupiter are sworn enemies, then why does Venus get exalted (happy) in Jupiter's house. Any anecdotal evidence will be much appreciated.

Venus is the poet among the nava grahas, Sonali. A poet needs a watery, imaginative sign to do well like our modern poets prefer the parks and the beautiful landscapes. You have only 3 watery signs and all three are owned by his enemies. Guru's pisces, being the abode of a fellow brahmin, looks appealing to him than his hardcore enemy-owned cancer (moon) and scorpio (mars).
Hii sonali,
I like your question. I was just going to ask this que on this forum but before that you asked it. This question just two days ago flashed in my mind. Any way I am happy that you have asked it.
I also want to know why venus exalted in jupiter sign despite of great enemy. I am waiting for the reply from our experts.
Same thing we can see in Mars too, Mars is the enemy of saturn. Still mars exalted in saturn's house. What is the reason behind it? Hope you experts delve it out.
Thank you
Regards
Nilesh

Here's a story!
Jupiter's son went to Venus and became his student. Venus's daughter became smitten with love for Jupiter's son. Jupiter's son however became student of Venus with a definite purpose in mind, and when it was achieved he left them both, i.e father and daughter.
In this story it does appear as if Venus and daughter were rather more altruistic than Jupiter or his son!

Dear All,
I have come across a story between Guru & Shukra.
Here it goes:
Shukra was a Bhargava rishi of the Atharvan branch and a descendant of sage Kavi. The Devi-Bhagavata Purana refers to his mother as Kavyamata. The feminic natured Shukra is a Brahminical planet. He was born on Friday in the year Parthiva on Sraavana Suddha Ashtami when Svati Nakshatra is on the ascent. Hence, Friday is known as Shukravaar in Indian languages like Sanskrit, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, and Kannada. He went on to study the Vedas under the rishi Angirasa but he was disturbed by Angirasa's favouritism for his son Brihaspati. He then went to study under rishi Gautama. He later performed penance to Lord Shiva and obtained the Sanjivani mantra (a formula that revived the dead). He married Priyavrata's daughter Urjaswathi and they had four sons — Chanda, Amarka, Tvastr, Dharaatra and a daughter by name Devayani.
During this period Brihaspati became the Guru (Preceptor) of the Devas. Due to the hatred he bore towards Vishnu for what he perceived as the murder of his mother as she had given shelter to some asura whom Vishnu was hunting, Shukracharya decided to become the Guru of Asuras. He helped them achieve victory over the Devas and used his knowledge to revive the dead and wounded among them.
The fact is that the Devas and Asuras were among two sections of Aryan kings and rishis out of which one section was worshiping deities called the Devas and the other, deities called the Asuras. Shukra was the preceptor of the petty king Vrshaparvan, the leader of the section worshiping the Asuras. These Deva-Asura differences were aggravated to such an extent that at a later period, his descendants and followers had to leave Sapta Sindhu and settle elsewhere. This very nature of Shukra, ie to dominate Guru. Shukra wanted to enjoy the same status as enjoyed by Guru, so he party in one of the Guru house( ie meena).
Best Regards,
BG

I got this from the internet.
HAYAGREEVA MANTRA
(for competitive examinations)
Jnanananda Mayam Dëvam
Nirmala Sphatikakritim
¡dh¢ram Sarva Vidy¢n¢m
Hayagreeva Mupasmahë
(11 times a day from 6 months to
1 year, before the examination)
Remedies of Venus in 11th House
(1) Donate curd or cotton in the temple.
(2) Float mustard oil in water or donate it in a temple.
(3) Eat the ashes of gold.
(4) Donate a cow during your marriage.
(5) Eat fish oil.
(6) Keep fast on Friday.
(7) Serve food to the guests who visit your house
(8) Take care of what you wear
The mantra is from the book Infallible Remedies from Vedic Astrology.
The second I believe is from Lal Katib but I cannot be sure but it is from an authoritative source. Do those that are appropriate for your son and for the conext of the problem you are asking - actually all applies except (4).

No graha is afflicted in jupiter's house.anusugu123 wrote:Thanks for both of you. My question is if venus is in jupiter's house is Jupiter really going to show enemity?
Effect of graha in jupiter's house:
If the graha are friends of Jupiter: friendly placement
If graha are neutral or enemies of jupiter: neutral placement.
Jupiter sees Budh and Venus as his enemies, hence placement of Jupiter in the houses of Venus or Budh is not favorable.
