Varahamihira esteems Moola, and Naisargika dasa which you have mentioned. Some esteem yogini, or ashottari. It depends on the astrologer, while other mix and match to get "results".

Yogini is good for all general purposes like vimsho, and should be used if you want to use another alternate nakshatra dasa. But stick to a dasha, unless the chart calls for a conditional dasa.
