Is Rahu always bad? lets discuss

Post by Suresh_Chauhan » 02 Jun 2017

Hi, it is found that Rahu , is a malefic planet and in its dasha causes lot of problems. Then how to predict for who rahu is going to be good and for who its bad.

Rahu is an enemy of Sun, moon, Jupiter, and even mars - the good guys. Means Rahu dasha will be bad for Aries, Cancer, Leo, Scorpio, Saggitarius, and Pisces ascendants or moon signs. It pollutes their houses and their main effects in chart. Signification gets reduced when Rahu and that planet period operates. Rahu is good for Venus, Mercury, Saturn ascendants and if placed in 3,6,10, 11 houses for them, even better.

Rahu with a planet amplifies its energy. Lot of karma seen and unseen can take place. But rahu alone in a house acts independently. Some people say they get sudden effects in Rahu, but 2-3 people I talked did not observed such result. E.g some got results as follows:

1. Rahu in main tikonas 1,5,9 is VERY bad. In lagna will destroy the chart, person will suffer married life. He is too egotistical and may be difficult to get along.

2. Rahu in kendra 4, 7, 10 has same result. 4th house, mother and domestic comfort suffer. sometimes loss of property. The mother's health is always weak. 10th house career will be good but still person is unhappy as they want more and more, more money, more status, more ego, never satisfied.

3. Finally rahu is good only 2,3,6,8,11 and 12 houses. Mainly Dusthaana and the maraka hoses. Basically it is bad for 50% people which makes sense. This is based on Ascendant. E.g one Leo ascendant who started the Rahu mahadashs at age 43 immediately lost his father, job problems, wealth loss, family troubles for almost half the dasha. Rahu in 9th Bhaagya house, but in 10th in bava chart. Every one said Rahu MD will be good, in reality he got opposite result. rahu nakshatra was Krittika , belong to lagna lord Sun.

What is the final analysis? rahu good for 50% of ASCENDANTS and only in 50% of houses. So immediately your chances of good Rahu periods get reduced to 25%. that is why most people are afraid of Rahu dasha bhukti, they may have kaal-sarpa causing even more problems.

I studied few charts of people running rahu dasha or mahaadasha It seems suffering is all round, some people had really bad time in Rahu-saturn and Rahu-rahu.

I have Rahu in 6th house ashwini nakshatra and have scorpio ascendant. It is true that the dasha brought a lot of uncertainties, but it gave me a lot of courage as well. I had the will power to stand against the problems. Overall, the entire dasha was very good although faced a lot of enemies. Only the last two years of the dasha was bad.

I can confirm that the below two are true
1. Rahu brings lot of uncertainties.
2. At the end of the mahadasha, it takes away everything that it had given to you and makes you question yourself.

Your statement that Rahu is good in 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th, 11th and 12th houses can be further crroborated in the following way :

Take Rahu's position in your chart. Count 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th, 11th and 12th from it. These houses in your chart would get Rahu's upliftment.

Rahu in the Ascendant in fact destroys all the dusthana houses counting from the Ascendant. He is generally healthy but he does not get the good grace of strangers initially and may not benefit much from social policies at first blush (because the trines and kendras are affected), but in actual fact the person gains a lot with the passage of time, especially if he is in Aires, Taurus and Cancer, as his goodness eventually shines through in these Sattvic signs. Even his family would like to reconcile with him (2nd house is 2nd from Rahu) and he gets riches too (2nd and 11th houses are 2nd and 11th from him).

Suresh_Chauhan,

What happens when rahu is involved in a raj yoga? As in rahu in Kona conjunct/aspected by a kendra Lord or rahu in kendra conjunct/aspected by a Kona Lord?

Will your analysis hold true for rahu antardashas in other mahadashas?

One thing I've noticed is when rahu is conjunct/aspected by a dusthana Lord or a planet in enemy sign/debilitation, it creates severe problems not just in the period of rahu but also in the period of the conjunct/aspecting planet.

When Rahu is involved in a raj yoga with another planet it conjuncts, rahu gives superior results to that planet when comparing each of their dasa. But if that planet is well placed, both give superior results during their dasas. Planet in enemy sign does not make much difference to the planet's dasa in the first general case but debilitation of that planet matters ie. does make a difference.

If Rahu and that planet are friends and they form a raj yoga just discussed, everything just discussed gets ameliorated. Like Venus is Lakshmi and Rahu is Kubera, gets on very well.

The only planet that can control Rahu is Jupiter. Without the Guru's grace Rahu remains mad, just a head without brain. Once Guru comes in and teaches Rahu, and if Rahu listens to him, he becomes a good student. If he is guided properly then there is no planet that works as hard as him or who can achieve as much as him, as he is very ambitious too.

So, I think whether Rahu is good or bad for a native would also depend on the grace of the Guru upon Rahu and not just where Rahu is placed.

Everyone blames Rahu for giving illusion and that he is a chandal but very few understand that unless there is illusion nobody would get to liberation. Which is why Rahu's other half Ketu is about liberation.

Hence, Rahu - Ketu axis in a chart is very important.

So, Rahu is not bad. If he is in good company he becomes good, if he is badly influenced he becomes bad. He is just a head (mind), what thoughts are put into his head and by whom is the question...

Kind regards

Nora

Yes, although classical astrology acknowledges that Rahu can be taught when placed in Aires, Taurus or Cancer on the Ascendant, Lal Katib only acknowledges the good placement only in Cancer, but it can be anywhere in the chart.

Jupiter, the dharmic planet, is exalted there and the whole of Cancer is also ruled by the Moon, the mind and who also represents the Mother, our first teacher who teaches us with infinite patience and in a loving manner. Cancer is also the domain of the Gods keeping a tight lid on Rahu's activities.

On the other hand when Rahu combines with Jupiter or Moon directly, the latter two may have their egos fed in a disproportionate manner.

Whether ego is fed or not would depend on the house of location and strength of Jupiter and moon

And then of course there are astrological methods that talk about the degrees of the planets in conjunction. When Jupiter or moon holds the lowest degree compared to Rahu, then the former wins and don't lose their quality.

Then beyond the chart, there is something called the divine will. For someone extremely spiritual like a Yogi, the chart ceases to operate beyond a certain point. So, for instance, if the Yogi is capable of breath control and dies and resuscitates himself multiple times in a body, then the chart won't work properly. Because, he has defied the time and charts of current birth run on time and when you stop time and restart it, the planets don't behave the same as what they did before his death of ego (samadhi) regardless of where they are placed.

Kind regards

Thanks for the info Nora.

Yes, Nadir Astrology also stresses a lot about degrees but I do not know about the specifics for this case. Thanks.

For the spiritual part, thanks also for the information specifics as well.
