new insights and calculation help requested

Post by divine_spark » 02 Nov 2016

I recently came across a Sanjay Rath text that recommends calculating vimsotari dashas from the ascendant if it is stronger than the moon. In my chart, the ascendant is much stronger than the moon, so I did a rough calculation and the general results are astonishing. I always felt like my dasha sequence made sense somewhat, but just not nearly enough so. Calculated from my ascendant, it resonates deeply and provides even more insight to my understanding of the nature of the way astrology works.

I've been trying to calculate exact dates of the buktis as a further test of this method and naturally to provide even more insight, but am having trouble with the math. Does anyone have a calculator that can reveal exact dates of dasha/bukti changes calculated from the ascendant's nakshtra placement? Or, alternatively, are there any math wizards out there that would like to try this exercise?

Total of 120 years is assigned as: Ketu, Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars, Rahu, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury are assigned 7,20,6,10,7,18,16,19,17 respectively. Maha dasa period is again divided in the same ratio across the nine grahas for the sub and similarly for the subsequent levels.

Guruji, will you kindly show the actual manual calculation of vimsottary dasha Bhukti for the Dasha balance RAHU: 11years 6months 28days as on date 03/08/2019 ?

As on 3/AUG/2019 0:13 AM using traditional Lahiri Moon is in 9 Le 15' (decimal - 9.25 deg in Magha Nakshatra).
Magha starts at 0 deg Leo and ends at Leo 13 Deg 20' (decimal - 13.33 deg). Moon has moved through 69.39% (9.25/13.33).
Balance left is 30.61%. Magha ruled by Ketu with an assigned dasa length of 7 years. Hence balance left is 2.1427 years.
Based on dasa lengths to a total of 120 years, We can see that the current ruling dasa will be of Rahu.(Because
[7{Ke}/120]+[20{Ve}/120]+[6{Su}/120]+[10{Mo}/120]+[7{Ma}/120]+[18{Ra}/120] = 56.67% whereas if we add Jupiter's (16/120)
it will be 70%, which is more than 69.39%).
To determine Sub dasa we follow the same system. First sub is of Rahu itself which will be (18/120)*(18/120). Of-course
the actual period should be computer by multiplying the percentage with the dasa period length/sub dasa period length.
For e.g., Rahu sub in Ketu Dasa will be (18/120)*(18/120)*7 years
