To see wife :

See D9 for the gain of a wife. This shows the relationship in ALL aspects with your wife.

Go to D1. If you see from the Lagna as Ascendant, the 7th house, Venus and the 7th house functional ruler would be the expectations what your wife should be. Whether this ties in with your actual wife that you would have, you have to confirm with D9. If it does confirm, then any gains or losses would accrue to you. But if you see from the 7th bhava as Ascendant, that would be the attributes of your wife.

To hone in on the attributes, go to D7. D7 also shows your interactive relationship with your wife like give and take, do you communicate with her etc.

To see children:

See D7 for the gain of children. D7 shows all aspects of your relationship with your child.

Go to D1. Read from the Lagna as Ascendant, Jupiter, functional ruler of the 5th and the 5th house would show the expectations you have of your children. How much the expectations would be fulfilled you have to tie in with D5. Those that are fulfilled would be the gains and loss the child would have on you. Taking 5th house as the Asecndant, you would then see the attributes of your child.

To hone in on the attributes of the child go to D5. D5 also shows how you act as a parent towards your child.

Wife :

All wives - 7th bhava
1st wife specifics - 7th bhava
2nd wife specifics -11th bhava (the 2nd wife is supposed to be dutiful to the 1st wife)
3rd wife specifics - 4th bava (the 3rd wife is a cousin to the 2nd wife, so 6th from the 11th)

Children :

All children 5th bhava.

Subsequent children just take 3rd from the previous bhava. This rule does not apply to the D7 when the picture of birth comes in. Refer to to the post on using D7 to see the birth of children for the rules.

Note that if you are reading the D-9 and the D-7 for things pertaining to yourself like overall life, then you have to start from the D-1 to see the supporting framework. You do not start from the divisional charts. The above strategy is only for reading wives and children as these are GAINED during the course of your life, rather than you have it from the time you are borned.

However, sign placements and yogas including those like exchange, the Navamsa usually override the Rasi because it is a God's chart.

Sir, I personally feel with my experience , first wife/husband should be seen from 7H, 2nd wife/husband from 9H[3rd from 7H], 3rd from 11H......... and so on... . Similarly the first child from 5H, 2nd child from 9H[ 5th from the 5H], 3rd child from Lagna[5th from the 9H] and so on . regards

Okay. Your opinion always count for me since you go by tried and tested methods. Thanks. I actually use this method initially but so many people have various different opinions on this.

For the wife, I got the above from a reputable book in Playstore written by a famed Indian Astrologer with examples to show. I guess it is rather unorthodox - not many people use this method.

For the children I got it from the post entitled Reading the Saptamsa for children.

You can also read the attributes of your mate using the Ascendant of D9 as Lagna besides the 7th bhava of Navamsa as Lagna. This is because 1st is the 7th of the 7th.

Note that you cannot use as Lagna the Ascendant of D7 to read the 1st child. You have to go back to the 5th bhava in D7 for the 1st child.

Another thing is the Swamsa which is the AK position in Navamsa. Good relationship between this and Venus, the Ascendant of D9 or the 7th bhava of D9 or their lords, good harmonious telationships can be predicted.
