Abhijit nakshatra - the hidden nakshatra of victory?

Post by MeeraL » 15 Jul 2018

Krishna say that in all nakshatras He is Abhijit Nakshatra. The MahaBharat not started in Abhijit nakshatra because Krishna did cover the Moon transiting that nakshatra.

Having a planet in that specific degrees of Abhijit Nakshatra, like Ascendent, Moon or even Sun, play a major key point.

But what we could say about having a planet in Abhijit Nakshatra, specifically the Sun? As per is rulled by the Sun this nakshatra.

Thank you

28 minutes before and 28 minutes after midnight is called Abhijit
Muhurtha. 28 minutes before the mid day and 28 minutes after the mid
day is also called Abhijit Muhurtha. This Muhurta completely destroys
evil propensities of unknown bodies including stars and planets. This
is the time when a protective mark is covered all over the universe, like
that of a bullet proof car. Hence this Muhurtha is the most suitable
time for any auspicious work. If one undertakes a journey during this
Muhurtha, except to the southern side, the purpose of the journey will
be fully achieved.

This was the muhurtha during the night when Lord Krishna was
born. Present day astrologers do not take into account Abhijit for the
purpose of prediction. The reason for dropping of this Nakshatra is not
fully known.

Lastly
Any planet located in Abhijit will cause vedha (obstruction) to the
planets positioned in Rohini Nakshatra and vice-versa.

Hello, thank you for replay. Just becarefull about to not put so much copyrights here because of the author rights.

Interesting to know about the Sun, about the Kavacha of protection, About enjoying maxium power and authority on native birthland is the sun there only i believe so, but if is there others planets that can change the atribute of the Sun, maybe will be in foreigner lands instead the land of this birth.

And also interesting to know about Venus in Abhijit nakshatra.

But very interesting the rest of the planets too. nice to know. thank you.

Abhijit nakshatra is not visible currently since the Sun has moved in the last 7000 odd years since the end of the Dwapara yuga. Astronomically, the Sun moves around the galactic centre..Thanks to this, currently no one can be born under this nakshatra.

yes, or they born in uttarashada or shravana, however there is also the last degrees from one and the begining of water that theorically could be called as Abhijit, in a sense or some additional information or curiosity to see the things.

Meera,

Whats your source for this ? Which tradition continues using this star ? I'm curious!

tejomaya, what i try to explain is simple. Abhijit nakshatra as you wrote was the 28 nakshatra. Theorically speaking we only have 27 nakshatras, however i person when if a planet is in the specific degree from UttaraShada to Sravana i will pay more attention to it, i will be aware depends the planet, depends the rest of planets. but i will have a double note on the basics that some planets are there, not only for curious but also to see how that play with the rest of the chart. So, is not a question of which tradition use it, is more a question of pay attention a little more then the normal when some planet is there. is something personall i do.

Hi

Abhijeet nakshatra is still in use today, like in muhurata etc. From what I have read it seems in ancient times only nakshatra paddhati was used and in that 27 and 28 nakshatra was used freely. 28 system of nakshatra is still used by chinese, arabian astrologers. There is no mention of rashi names in veda and vedic jyotish. And in vedic period the start of nakshatra was from kritika and sometimes dhanishtha (based on equinoctical points) like of basant sampat of makar sankranti.
Each planet was assigned with 3 nakshatra. With the advent of rashi in Indian astrology, the problem arised of dividing these 28 nakshatra equally among the 12 rashis. Now 28/12=2.333333333 (non terminating) an irrational number and 27/12=2.25 a rational one. So to counter the problem of giving equal nakshatra to 12 rashis one nakshatra was dropped and it was abhijeet nakshatra. The reason for dropping was that it was far away from the ecliptic orbit and close to the poles, also its place keep on changing (this abhijeet was the pole star in ancient times and may become the same in coming future, you may have heard the story of abhijeet falling in the sky). In the zodiac it lies in capricorn between uttar ashad and shravan. May be some astrologers still use 28 nakshatra system. Don't know.

And I think it is still visible may be in the horizon after sunset, but too faint to be seen. Some propose that it is now a supernova and ready to go into oblivion. And the reason for it being called invisible in astrology is;for it being too far from the ecliptic of moon so not counted.

Hi all,

I am a novice. I would like to share here what pvr narasimha roa author of jhora software gave explanation. I would like to share. Experts might already know this.
He said if you don’t have muhurtha Abhijat nakshatra is the next best. It’s around midday. The reason being there is lot of light.
And the sun is always in the 10th house during that time and Lagna is benefitted and will have full light and blessings of the sun. 4th from the sun is Abhijeet Lagna of that chart.

My opinion is that muhurtha may not be mixed up with auspiciousness of a birth chart.
