Shadbala and it's effects in Dasha Periods?

Post by tanish » 11 Apr 2018

Namastey!
Sorry If it's been covered somewhere on this forum.
I could get much of the knowledge about Shadbala online.
What if shadbala goes too low and planet's mahadasha is going on? How will it affect the time period, will it be difficult or hard?

Let's take an example
(Kundali 20/02/93 00:48 Meerut)
Jupiter is in 11th house for scorpion ascendent, in navamsa it's in 12th house cancer (exalted)
Shadbala is very low and below the requirement, how will this planet act in mahadasha period?

For same Kundali, mars is in 8th house (scorpio ascendent pretty bad placement) but Strong shadbala will it's antradasha/dasha give good results or bad?

Thank you

Shadbala is measure of strength of planet involved in yoga, is it strong enough to give good results. Its a compound value derived from various other balas like cheshtabala, digbala, drikbala, sthanabala etc.

You asked about dasha results if shabala is weak. In general, its dictated by dashanath and anterdasha lord depending on the specific combination, friendship of the two, relative position in chart , etc. For example, if the mahadasha and anterdasha planets have 2-12 or 6-8 placements then the result may be BAD even if they are friends . Now if the two lords happen to be Saturn-Venus then the 6-8 or 2-12 is good because it nullifies bad results usually expected in Venus/Saturn, or Saturn/Venus!! Even an exalted planet with good shabala but placed in dusthana will give poor results during its dashas despite high shadbala

Shadbala is only one factor among many during the mahadasha , certainly not the determining one.

tanish,

shadbala is the ability of the planet to give the results it promises in the chart. If a planet has good significations in the chart and has high shadbala, it will give very good results. Good significations and low shadbala, good results will be there but in lower intensity. Bad significations and high shadbala would give severe bad results. Bad significations and low shadbala would give less severe bad results.

At the very basic level (there is lot more nuance to it) good significations means, ruling a good house, placed in a good house, in good dignity. Bad significations means ruling dusthana houses, placed in dusthana houses, in bad dignity.

Thank You, Sir, for detailed explanation :)
Does Shadbala take retrogradation of a planet into account? Like for above Kundali Jupiter is retrograded in 11th house?
Does placement of a planet in 6 8 12 in navamsa, even if it's exalted effect the planet period?

Tanish Ji, yes when a Graha is in retrograde motion, its Shadbala is quite high by fixing any of the Ascendant! because while in retrograde motion Chesta bala will be more when compared if it's in direct motion since its Velocity will be high. In your horoscope also you can verify it, Chesta bala of Jupiter is greater than all the Grahaas. You could download Jhora software & see if you don't have it. The link for download is as follows:
http://www.vedicastrologer.org/jh/
Go down & download 102 MB version. After downloading it you can see the option named Strength, in that select an option other strengths down. Now, on the top just right click where Shadbala of all Grahaas are given, in that select an option Shadbala break-up. You can see all the corresponding Values. Now compare all the Grahaa's Chesta bala value!

Yes it'll effect, as they're negative houses (Du-sthaanam) the effect will be multiplied I think. So, Kindly confirm with a learned person, since I'm a learner!

I've read astrologers using Ishta phala and Kashta phala for predicting Dashas. But I've a question on that too. Sun always has lesser ishta phala on Sagittarius. Does that mean Sun (in Sag) dasha will always be bad?
