Argala

Hi,

Because Argala is a kind of an aspect, I think that this thread is rightly opened in this Section. Both Parashara and Jaimini talks about it, thus is not only part in so- called Jaimini astrology, but also in BPHS sage Parashara gives this technique of argala.

Rules of Argala:
1. Every sign/ planet posited in the 2nd, 4th or 11th house from a sign/ planet etc. causes primary argala [intervention as an aspect] on it;
2. Every sign/ planet posited in the 5th [some say also for the 8th house] from a sign/ planet etc. causes secondary argala on it;
3. Malefic sign/ planets in the 3nd from a sign/ planet etc causes argala on it;
4. Signs/ planets in the 12th, 10th or 3rd house causes obstruction of argalas [if these are stronger] of the 2nd, 4th or 11th from a sign/ planet etc.;
5. Argala from the 3rd house caused by malefics signs/ planets are always unobstructed;
6. Signs/ planets in the 9th house [if these are stronger] causes obstruction of argala from the 5th house.

This is a very important subject in astrology. Even the results given by sages of the planets in houses are based, also, on argala.
Ex:
"Mercury in the 3rd house can give a son at an early age". Why? The 3rd house is the 11th from 5th (children). Mercury is a boy, thus because it has an argala at the 5th house the native can have a child at a young age.
"Mercury in the 9th house gives gains of a various kind". Mercury means multi/ various etc., and in 9th has an argala at the 11th house of gains. Thus, the native will have gains of a various kind.

Now, because of argala so much confusion is in the process of learning of this science for many astrologers. The 5th house which shows intelligence has an argala at the 4th house, of learning, and for this reason malefics in 5th house shows poor intelligence and also poor learning (4th house) due to that poor intelligence (5th house).

We can take any house to see what houses causes argala on it, and for what reason.
For ex., the 4th house shows learning. The 2nd, 4th and 11th houses for it are the 5th, 7th and 2nd houses. Thus, for learning one deeds intelligence (5th house), good schoolmates (7th house) and good family/ samskaras (2nd house).
For the 3nd house (journey) the 4th, 6th and Lagna has argala on it. Thus, we need a vehicle (4th house) and a driver (6th house).
For the Lagna (health) the 2nd, 4th and 11th house has argala on it. Thus, we need good food (2nd house), taking bath (4th house) and lack of anxiety (11th house- 12th from 12th house). In Ayurveda the overeating (2nd house), uncleanness (4th house) and anxiety (11th house but only as 12th from 12th) are the given causes for diseases.
For the 7th house the 8th, 10th and 5th houses has argala on it. Thus, we need a dowry (8th house), some job (10th house) and love (5th house) to get married.
Of course, the houses has many other meanings which can be studied for a better understanding of the subject of argala.

What about 6th house? - enemies, disease-debts.
Argala houses are 7th, 9th, 4th?
what about 12th house?
