19:26 ghatis means 19 ghatis and 26 vighatis.(If it is 19.26 ghatis it means 19 ghatis and 15.6 vighatis). 1 ghati is 24 minutes. 1vighati is 24 secs. Duration to be counted from time of sunrise at the place needed. May be worked out.

Thanks for responding Tylore ji .

Let me do the calculations, please tell me if I m correct?

1 Ghati = 24 minutes
19 Ghati = 456 minutes
Plus for 26 Vighatis I will approximately take 11 minutes

So adding both gives 19.26 Ghati = 467 minutes
Dividing 467 minutes by 60 minutes we get 7.78 hours

With 7.78 hours, I will add the sunrise time 6.02
Which comes to 13.80 hours

Which is afternoon 1.80 hours that is 1:50 pm

So the thidhi ends around 1:50 pm that day.

But in DrikPanchang for Raleigh, NC dated 30th June 2019, it says the thidhi ends at 7:26 pm that day. Hence the confusion.

Please correct me what mistake I did in calculating.

Your calculation is correct. Only the time of Sunrise (given as 6.02) is, perhaps, 6 hrs and 2 minutes. If taken as 6.02 hrs, it would mean 6 hrs and .02*60 or 1.2 minutes. The error is small in this case, but I am only clarifying the proper usage of units of measurement.

Thank you Tylore ji, I got the point.

I was indeed breaking my head over this because I always make sure I do Pooja to Lord Shiva every Trayodashi even if I am busy with kids and other household work. So, this timing calculation is extremely important to me so that I don’t miss my prayers.

I also don’t want to blindly believe some online Panchangam . Your confirmation made me feel very much relieved.
