Hello, dear Astro_Girl,

I am just a student here, but a few thoughts on your horoscope:

You have Jupiter in 7th house, aspecting ascendant. This strengthens your horoscope and promises spouse with good qualities.

Your 7th lord Sun is debilitated, but his debilitation gets cancelled by 1) him being exalted in Navamsa; 2) by him being conjunct with Mars his exaltation lord; and 3) by his dispositor Venus being debilitated.
This means that in the first part of your life you might experience trouble and frustration in regards to marriage (lack of it), as you describe. But later in life the situation will improve, especially after 30 yrs of age.

Also, 7th lord aspected by Saturn may delay marriage, but again could give better results later on.

Venus the planet for romance, love, marital happiness is debilitated in the 8th house. But in Navamsa she is in friendly house and approaching exaltation sign - so again, may indicate better results a little later in your life.

7th lord in 9th house in the case of women may indicate religious minded woman, dedicated to spirituality and austerity even in married life. Also, Ketu in 5th may indicate that you feel a certain detachment from romantic life.

Marriage may increase your material prosperity, as Jupiter lord of 2nd and 11th is in the 7th house.

You have recently (January) entered Jupiter antardasha, so over next year there might be better luck for marriage.

Remember, it is better to get married later, but to a good suitable person than to rush it and then 'lament at leisure.' It is even better to not marry at all than marry unsuitable person (speaking from painful experiences of some of my friends.)

If your family finds suitable candidate take time to check the match carefully.

Darshini, it seems you compare quite a lot with the Navamsha chart? Why? Do you think the Navamsha chart over-rides/dominates the Lagna chart after a certain age? Please explain in details, if possible. Thanks..

As per my teachers, no divisional chart overrides or dominates Lagna chart at any time, Lagna chart always remains the main.

However, Navamsa chart IS the next most important chart after Lagna chart in many areas of life, and especially so in matters of marriage. You will find with more traditional authors (like prof. B.V.Raman and many others) that they always give Navamsa chart along with the Lagna chart, and no prediction is made without looking at Navamsa chart also.

(I have heard some opinions that Navamsa chart becomes more prominent after 30 yrs of age, but I have so far in my few year studies not found any definite proof for this in astrological scripture)

Why I mentioned Navamsa chart several times here was because in the horoscope under discussion the 7th Lord Sun is debilitated - which would usually indicate difficulties in marriage. However, according to factors given by Dr. B.V. Raman, there is cancellation of debilitation (neechabhanga raja yoga). Neechabhanga raja yoga essentially means that person experiences frustration in certain area in the beginning, but later in life things improve and may even work out extremely well, if there are several factors that cancel debilitation.

For example, Einstein had debilitated Mercury, and was considered retarded in elementary school age, but later became a genius, due to the cancellation of Mercury's debilitation.

And in context of marriage, one my friend has her 7th Lord debilitated in Lagna chart and exalted in Navamsa. She married in her 20s and marriage was extremely difficult and ended in divorce. She remarried in her 30s, and has been doing very well ever since.

If possible, could you perhaps draw a quick SWOT of my Navamsha chart as compared to my Lagna chart?

I know there are no debilitated planets in my Lagna chart but there are many a "Great Enemies" present. Also there are no Vargotammas. Also, Moon is in Pisces Lagna in Navamsha.

I would like to know of any planet that is gaining strength in Navamsha (the way you mentioned in your explanation), debilitation, "Great Friends", Neutral and Enemies.

Also, if you could perhaps de-code my Jupiter in Lagna vis-a-vis Navamsha. I know Jupiter is in a bad placement in my Aquarius Lagna plus retrograde. Frankly, I have run out of luck in this ongoing Guru Mahadasha - hence the curiosity.
What I have learned is Mahadasha supercedes everything - be that transits, antardashas, etc.

Or for that matter anything that you may find startling worth mentioning!

Dear Astro_girl,

As far as my knowledge goes, no strong signs of divorce or separation are there, only some mild ones which are balanced by other factors.

However, as I mentioned, you should check carefully the other person's chart before marriage to make sure they don't have such tendencies for divorce and separation, because divorce my also take place predominantly because of one of the charts.

Hello, Neelkumar,

I repeat that I was only mentioning 'planets gaining strength' in Navamsa chart in this case in reference to neecha-bhanga raja yoga, since this method is mentioned in the scriptures. Since there are no neecha planets in your lagna chart, there is also no neecha-bhanga.
And for other uses of Navamsa chart I have to study and research more.

One author, C.S. Patel in his book Navamsa in Astrology quotes a verse saying that in Mahadasha planets will predominantly give results according to their position in lagna kundali, while in antardashas and smaller divisions - according to their position in Navamsa. But I have not researched or studied this much, so can't personally comment.

Some authors consider Jupiter in Aquarius equal to Jupiter in Cancer, i.e. exalted. But since he is your 2nd and 11th lord and retrograde he will give some malefic influence. That's all I can say so far.
