Potential Mental Health issues?

Post by pranav02 » 16 Feb 2019

( I have only recently gotten into Vedic astrology and I have recently found out that I am entering into a period of Rahu mahadasha which lasts for 17 years? I've read that it is a period of illusions and somewhat of total chaos unless if Rahu is positioned nicely in the chart leading to materialistic development.)

Could someone please help me by providing an insight as to how the next few years/ the near future of my life is going to be? I would mainly like to know in terms of mental health. Thanks a lot :)

Also, the main issue with me is I have been battling with a certain addiction (porn, not sure if this is SFW enough) which have been going on since the age of 13/14. I have recognized it's harmful effects and have tried to curb it early on (NoFap since 15.5 years of age) but it's been incredibly hard on me. I wanted to know what astrological combinations could be responsible for this kind of a problem, when will it (if it does) eventually go away forever and what remedies should I take to achieve this goal?

@Joyd : Respected sir, I humbly request you to help me out with the second part of this query if you don't mind. It's something that has been bothering me for quite a while and although I've almost gotten rid of the pattern, I find myself unable to exit it completely.

1-11-12th lord saturn aspecting your 8th house of addictions.
2-Both moon and rahu is in 8th lords star../ 3-In navamsa , the 8th house is with sun,venus[6-8 combo]but due to jupiter you can overcome it gradually../4-Rahu-moon in 6-9 axis gives un-orthodoxical thoughts of sex..
THe above four things are the cause of your problem.your rahu dasa will be very good.Nothing to worry.

Really appreciate the reply! Are there any remedies I should take to get rid of the addiction and would I able to get rid of it forever within this Rahu mahadasha?

Regards,
Pranav.

Eventhough you perform remedies it persists till jupiter AD enters in Rahu mahadasha.so your jupiter is your remedy and no other remedies not required in this issue. To avoid the un-orthodoxical sexual thoughts pray goddess kali with your favourite name[among her 1000 names] and mantra.

@Joyd sir (also inviting other mods to answer): I have been practicing the kali mantras like you mentioned. I have recently stepped into my Rahu Mahadasha and the main issue is the porn addiction has gotten somewhat worse. It’s as though I am constantly at war with the addiction and though I have been going on streaks of a week or so, eventually I’m still stuck within the same cycle. I’d like to know is there anything else I can do about this?

Most importantly, you had mentioned that when I step into Rahu MD and Jupiter AD, I would get rid of my addiction. Would I get rid of it forever or would the addiction come back into my life in some later part of life? Also, would I get rid of the unorthodox thoughts when Jupiter steps in to the Mahadasha?

Would really appreciate and be grateful for a reply.

Hello Pranav02,

I am not an expert, but I have mid level knowledge of astrology. Rahu dasha itself is nothing to worry about. I know this from personal experience.

I went through rahu dasha from age 18 to 36. My Rahu is placed in 8th house, one of the worst houses. There was no major disaster, no accidents, no health problems.

It is supposed to be very bad during educational period of life which was true for me because in Rahu-Rahu I had my worst year in academics. I barely managed to pass 2nd year Engineering. My overconfidence and carelessness was the cause. But later I got good job, traveled and made decent money. I had career trouble in Rahu-Mercury but after that Rahu dasha was smooth.

Experts here will tell you if your particular chart will give trouble in rahu dasha but rahu itself is nothing to fear. Rahu can give great material success and marriage.

You are just 17 years old. Sexual desires are normal at this age. Not having sexual desires at your age would be abnormal. Rather than trying to suppress it, it is easier if you develop a hobby or intellectual interest. Spending time with a good friend circle is also recommended. Reciting shlokas and chanting Mantras will be useful only if you understand their meaning & have genuine faith in God. Otherwise it becomes mechanical and will not help much. But of course, it is a good habit to develop.

The main thing to keep in mind is not to lose sight of your goals in life.

Thanks for the reply! Over a period of time, I have recognized this too and moreover, people have told me the same thing, that my Rahu dasha won't be as bad (also that I may have to spend a lot). Thing is I was curious for the very fact that if there's anything even minorly faulty or disturbing of an incident that is still within my hands, I would try hard to change and generate positive karma before then.

About the sexual desires part, the thing is I have embarked on this journey of NoFap and I have understood over a period of time that there's nothing good that generates out of watching porn solely or accompanying it with wasting one's precious life energy, semen. I understand that around 90 percent of people my age engage in similair activities and that it has been normalized but I don't wanna jump in on that bandwagon. It has simply made things much harder from a physical and mental aspect and I have struggled with regards to academics, self-confidence and social situations and much more every time I engage in porn or masturbation and I wanna be much more than that. I recognize that people in the Vedic ages reached closer to enlightenment when they engaged in brahmacharya and I wanna stay a step ahead of the people around and advance myself spiritually too.

With regards to what I'm looking for, this addiction is a battle I don't have to engage in but I am choosing to, I have been at battle for 2 years now and I wanna know if I'd get rid of forever. If so, when this will happen and what I have/can do till then because when other things don't give me answers, it's astrology that can help me out and offer me some clairity amindst the confusion prevalent. This is why I was seeking help from the mods here, joyd (sir) has been of great help so far, was looking to clear a few more doubts and stay on the right path towards success.

But I do really appreciate your insight and advices and thank you for sharing your personal experience. It's been helpful :)

I would appreciate any further inputs on this, it's a constant battle between accepting my sexuality and not giving to instant gratification, which brings my mood down even more.

Just wanna know when it will go away and if it'll (idealistically) go away forever from that time frame onwards

Planet Venus is model of passion. It guru's of demon's. Venus is in 10th house in your rasi chart and in conjunction with Sun and Ketu. Venus is inauspicious in 10th house. Sun and Rahu is the enemy of Venus. Rahu is in 4th house. Venus is severely afflicted.

Now Venus is the eyesight(the vision that you see). It surrender's itself when it gets conjoined or aspected by enemy planet. In your case venus is aspected by rahu and in conjunction with sun as well as ketu.

As per Kal pursh kundli, Moon is in 7th house owned by Venus. So Venus has association with Moon. Now Moon considered venus as it friend, however venus does not consider Moon as it's friend. So Moon is occupying enemy's house. Moon is your mind and venus been malefic... this is affecting you mentally.

Sun as per kalpursh kundli is in Capricorn, sign ruled by Saturn. Sun and Saturn are enemies and in this case Venus will be sacrified and Venus is also placed in 10th house.

Venus is considered as Cow and Rahu is considered as elephant. Rahu is aspecting venus,in this case too, venus is destroyed.

Jupiter is in conjunction with Rahu. In this case Jupiter will not give the maximum result.

What needs to be done is
1) Donate 1 kg of wheat flour in temple for 5 days continously
2) Donate any number of Besan Ladoo( these ladoo's should not be made up of milk) to young girls. Do it for 4 days continously.

Do one remedy at a time.

Once the remedy is complete, please provide feedback after a month or so...

Hi,

I've had a chance to cast your birth chart and review planetary positions. Below are a few notes that are relevant to your stated problem:

1. The 10th house of Dhanur Rasi is deeply afflicted by the presence of Venus/Shukra, who is a top class malefic for the chart. It is sharing space with 6th lord and Roga-Karaka Sun/Ravi and Ketu - Rahu axis.
2. As highlighted in multiple different threads, Dhanur Rasi has been the stage selected by celestial forces for high-profile malefic action in the few month. Incidentally, Rahu-Ketu are present in this region, where they seem to gain their peak strength.
3. You started Rahu Maha-Dasha right around the time when Ketu transited over to Dhanur Rasi.
4. Although Mercury/Budha's presence in his Neecha-Stana and being collocated with Moon/Chandra in Lagnamsa of Navamsa chart is a mild cause for concern (incidentally you would have observed a spurt of problem in the recent past), I'm inclined to think the above factors/combination seems to have really battered you over an extended period of time. And, this will probably continue at least until end of year (if not slightly longer), when Rahu-Ketu move far out of the danger zone.

If the problem is acute, please consider appropriate propitiation by seeking help/guidance from qualified and reputed experts. Good luck and best wishes...

Sincerely...

Thank you both for the insights. Is this going to be a prominent struggle throughout my life or will I gain control over it soon? (When?)

Also, despite having a low shadbala due to 10h and low chestabala, venus still has relatively alright digbala. Looking at it from a strength perspective, how are we understand the strength of Venus in my chart?

Also, really appreciate the answers once again, however, there are no temples nearby nor am I financially independent so I'm not sure about the remedies for now but will use this information to the best I can.

Hi,

As highlighted previously, the issue seems to have started with the onset of Rahu Maha-Dasha. An association of malefic Venus/Shukra and Rahu will invariably induce and preoccupy a native with sensual thoughts/actions. And, if the problem is actue, you could start with simple prayers and chanting of mantras to appease Maha-Shakti to propitiate Rahu - there is no pressing need for you to go to far off temples or monetary expenses involved.

Sincerely...

@SishyaJi, thank you for the reply. Thought I had replied before but seems like I have not.

The issue stemmed however much before Rahu MD. I was first exposed to softcore content, due to my own curiosity when I was 9-10. I got deep into the hole, when I was 13, during my Mars-Saturn dasha. It's been hellish even since I discovered this plague of a problem (though I've been blessed in other regards). It's really been a menace especially when I wish to practice brahmacharya/semen retention least till marriage.

I just want to know whether I can get rid of this addiction forever (like drug addicts who've stayed clean for the rest of their lives) and whether I can say goodbye to it FOREVER? If so, when?

Meanwhile, thank you and everyone else who've shed some light on this :")
