Hello,
Can learned astrologers here pls shed some light on how retrogation should be taken in account while calculating Karakas i.e. AtmaKaraka, Amatyakaraka & so on. Let’s not go into if Rahu should or not be considered. There are discussions and posts already on the forum. I know for Rahu since it retrograde planet, we deduct its degree from 30 to check its travel in a particular rashi and that degree after deduction decides Rahu’s Karakatwa As either Atma/Amatya/Bhratru/Matru/Putra/Gnati/ or Dara. —-Does the same concept apply if other planets in chart are retrograde as well?
Other query, should we consider First 7 top to Bottom degrees of planets for above mentioned Karakas or Dara Karak should be planet with the lowest degree whether it’s in top 7 degrees or not?

Re: Retrogation in calculating Karakas
HI ,
No, being Retrograde planet doesnt change the condition for Charakaraka. So even if highest degree planet is retro still it would be AK only.
Secondly, depending up how many CKs you consider (7 or Darakara would always be planet with least degree.
Rahu is the only exception where its actual degree is minus by 30 and that is considered as normal degree when compared to other planets.
