Upapada in 8th house

Post by Oscar5 » 14 Jan 2020

What does it mean when Upapada placed in 8th house from Scorpio lagna and aspected by retrograde Mars and ketu. Upapada lord is combusted and retrograde placed in 9th house from lagna with Sun.
Does it indicates that spouse will have strong Scorpio lagna and problematic marriage?

Jyotish Phalaratnamala says Sun other than Aries,Mithuna and Leo signs is not enjoying any special powers. Mercury should not be in burnt condition. If the conjunction is within 1 degree, it gives raja yoga. If it is beyond 1 degree, it is treated as burnt out planet. Results depend on degree of burning. Also the type of conjunction-inferior or superior.

Retrograding of benefic planets will not give harmful effects if not afflicted further by natural malefics. But this retro gives a damage in longevity calculations while doing harana. Brihat Samhita mentions the Nakshatra veedhi for Cancer transit of Sun to be Airavatham and this is auspicious.

Locate Yamasukra for marriage delays. This is omitted for no obvious reasons. It seems to be a good tool. Spouse quality can be seen by navamsa 7th lord and UL planet's position in navamsa. Pure Jaimini strongly supports KM Navamsa.

UL gives the hints about quality of marital life mainly. Arudhas can't be traced for navamsa positions the way planets are traced because they are moved in D1 to tenth house in case if they fall in 7th. This extra push makes navamsa location not possible.

When the Upapada (the Arudha Pada of the 12th house, signifying marriage and relationships) is placed in the 8th house from Scorpio Lagna, and it's aspected by retrograde Mars and Ketu, it can indicate complex dynamics in marriage and partnerships for individuals with this placement. The 8th house is associated with transformation, hidden aspects, and sudden, profound changes, which may manifest as intense and transformative experiences within marriage or close relationships. The influence of retrograde Mars suggests a strong, passionate, and sometimes unpredictable energy in partnerships, which can lead to power struggles or periods of upheaval. The presence of Ketu adds a spiritual or karmic dimension, indicating that lessons related to selflessness, detachment, or past-life connections may be significant in the context of marriage and partnerships. Overall, this combination suggests the potential for deep, transformative, and somewhat unconventional relationships that require careful navigation and self-awareness. Consulting with a professional astrologer can provide a more nuanced understanding of how these factors play out in an individual's life.
