In vedic astrology planet in 24-28 considered as mrityu avasta and 29-2 are considered as special degrees
But atmakarak is also given importance in vedic astrology
so inst it contradiction?
One version says mrityu avasta (planets are dead) and wont give results at all
another version is given way too much importance and was called atmakaraka?

you have mixed 2 separate systems as one question.jaimini and parashara.In parashari system ,natural malefics on such mrityu degrees[avastha]will give good results.Natural benefics on special degrees flares well positively.coming to jaimini-irrespective of malefic/benefic parameters,AK always guides your soul's journey.Avasths are not applicable in jaimini school of thought.
