Ishta Devata concept

Post by ashy » 27 Mar 2016

If Aquarius is the 12th house from karakamsa lagna and it has both Venus and Mercury sitting in it then what is the Ishta Devata that one should worship?

Ashwin

Dear Ashwin, The presence of mercury and Venus indicates Vishnu. Further, Saturn as the sign lord also suggests a Vaishnavite deity - Narayana, Tirupati Venkatesha, Krishna, Rama etc.

Thank you. That makes sense. Is the Buddha considered one of Vishnu's incarnations?

Shakyamuni Buddha is in fact signifies Mercury. The Dasavataras of Vishnu represent the planets.

Matsya - Ketu
Koorma - Shani
Varaha - Rahu
Nrisimha - Kuja
Vamana - Brhaspati
Parashurama - Shukra
Rama - Surya
Krishna- Chandra
Balarama/Buddha - Budha

In my house, my mom has always worshipped Vishnu. He has been the kula deva.

But I have always had a strange allure to the Buddha and to his teachings. And seeing Mercury in the 12th from karakamsa with venus I always wondered if there was a female avatar of Vishnu that I was supposed to worship.

Ashwin

Dear Ashy
U shd worship Buddha. You must listen to ur heart.
God is just one, we call HIM by different names.
A true prayer always reaches to HIM irrespective of the language and the address (name of God)
God bless you
Neeraj
