I see most astrologers ( including sanjay rath ji , Narshima rao ji ) using exceptions when calculating Arudha padas as given by parashara - jhora default settings
http://www.saptarishisastrology.com/dow ... riesBW.pdf
But then the great KN rao ji says not to use exceptions
and then some people use exact longitude method
This gives 3 different Arudha lagnas with totally different results which makes it very confusing for us novices . I would like to request experts to share their experiences on this very basic and most crucial point
Thanks a lot
Whether to use exceptions or not for Arudha padas ?

Re: Whether to use exceptions or not for Arudha padas ?
Please find and take up the chart of an individual you know well and/or you can follow-up with and get feedback from (avoiding in most cases, ones own chart).
Calculate using different recommendations.
See if there is one recommendation that fits observed reality better.
Sometimes more than one recommendation might seem to fit; which one fits better -- if can be determined will make your task easier.
Repeat the above test in more charts and see where the observed chips fall (as opposed to expected or recommended chips)
While not 100% guaranteed, often this process eliminates or at least reduces confusion, whether it is about a method of determination, or ayanamsha or any of the many *ties* that jyotish has or might have accumulated over time.
