Want to insert an image in your post?

Post by Vaughn Paul » 22 Aug 2006

Hi everyone,
You can insert an image, like an astrology chart or photo, into your posts by following these steps.

Step 1: Create an image in a graphics program like Adobe Photoshop and save it on your computer's hard drive. You can also just find an image on the internet, right click on it, and choose 'save as' and save it to your computer's hard drive. For instance, if you want to comment about a chart discussed in a diary article on this web site then just right click on the chart and save it to your hard drive.

Step 2: Go to http://imageshack.com and check the 'upload images' button.

Step 3: Browse and upload the image from "File" - You don't need to do any changes to the image using PhotoShop...this site accepts JPEG, GIF, PNG or even BMP file types.

Step 4: Now just click on the button "Start Upload".

Step 5: After uploading the image, a list of URLs will appear on the screen. Go to "Direct link to image" box and highlight and copy (Ctrl C) the entire URL found inside that box.

Step 6: Login to this discussion board. This allows you to create, edit, or reply to a post. Choose an appropriate spot on your post to place the image. Then paste (Ctrl V) the initially copied URL onto that chosen spot.

Step 7: Re-select the URL you have just pasted by highlighting it (running your cursor over it) and click on the 'Img' Button available below the Subject Box, among an array of function buttons (B, i, u, Quote, Code, List, List=, Img, URL). You will now notice that the URL is enclosed between two html codes - .

Step 8: Now click on the Submit Button so that the changes take effect. Done!

Example images

-------

To go a step further with images: If you become a registered member of http://imageshack.us/, you can upload images and save them to a digital photo album for later use - for free! The following are the steps to create a Digital Image Album at http://imageshack.us/:

Step 1: Go to http://imageshack.us/

Step 2: At the top section of the page, click on My Images Button

Step 3: Now at the bottom of the page, key-in your email address twice and then click on the Register Button.

Step 4: You will now receive an email from http://imageshack.us/ - stating your ImageShack Registration. If this email was not found inside your iinbox, then most probably it was transferred over to your Bulk folder (for [No Personal Contact Details on Public Forum] email users). Transfer this email over to your inbox. Inside that email, Imageshack will provide you with a link called REGISTRATION LINK. Upon clicking on this link, it will automatically transfer you to your personal Digital Image Album site. (Note: Dont erase this email as the REGISTRATION LINK is the only way to login to your personal Digital Image Album site)

Step 5: Login to your personal Digital Image Album site using the REGISTRATION LINK.

Step 6: To upload images the same way you did in the past, click on the ImageShack Button found at the top section of the current page.

Step 7: After uploading the image, a list of URL will appear on your screen. Instead of copying the URL link, click on My Images Button found at the top-section of the current page this will bring you back to your personal Digital Image Album site, where the uploaded image will appear.

Step 8: Back at your personal Digital Image Album site, you can either make the uploaded image be available to the public or restrict it by privatizing the image or even delete it if youre not satisfied with the image. You can also copy the required link found under the "Direct" Boxes of each respective image, to be used for your specific purposes.

Step 9: To Log-out, click on the Log Out Button found at the top-righthand corner of that page.

Have fun with images! Special thanks to MCSun for providing this list of instructions!!
