The fixed Karan are Shakuni, Chatushpad, Naga and Kinstughna. Shakuni Karan is fixed on the 2nd half of 14th Thithi of Krishna Paksha, Chatuspada Karan is on the first half of Amavasyya[ 15th Thithi of K.P] , Naga Karan is on the 2nd half of Amavasyya. Kinstunghna Karan is on the first half of Pratipada of Shukla Paksha . Then the movable Karan Bava[2nd Half of Pratipada, S.P], Balava[ 1st half of 2nd Day of S.P],Kaulava[2nd Half of 2nd Day of S.P], Taitila[1st Half of 3rd day of S.P] , Gara[ 2nd half of 3rd day of S.P], Vanija[1st Half of 4th Day of S.P], Vishti[2nd half of 4th Day of S.P] and so on . Vishti Karan is known as Bhadra.

Visthi Karan prevails on the first half of 8th and 15th Tithi of Shukla Paksha and 7th and 14th Thithi of Krishna Paksha.Visthi Karan prevails in the second half of 4th and 11th Tithi of Shukla Paksha and 3rd and 10th Thithi of Krishna Paksha. Vishthi Karan is called Bhadra and is highly inauspicious for Muhurtha purpose. Pl. do not confuse this with Bhadra Thithi i.e 2nd , 7th or 12 tithi.

When Moon is in sign Cancer, Leo, Capricorn or Aquarius Bhadra resides in Mrityu Lok i.e earth so its bad for the people residing on earth. In rest of the signs, Bhadra is not bad.If Bhadra is in the latter part of Tithi and Bhadra falls in day time then its an auspicious Bhadra.If Bhadra is in the initial part of the Tithi and falls in the night time then its also an auspicious Bhadra.
