Hello Healall,
It was an interesting read.
I have mercury in my 2nd house and I seem to have an appetite for many kinds of tastes.
Mixed as you say seems to be appropriate. One thing that I cannot stand is SWEET.
I have an aversion for sweets, chocolates, cakes ever since I was a child...I wonder what it is that makes me not have a sweet tooth?

Somebody else has venus in the second house and she definitely loves TANGY things!

Dear Rajji,

If you read what healall has written, which was taken from PV Narsihma Rao's book, you can see that Jupiter represents sweet things. In your case, if you have an aversion for Sweets, look at Jupiter's placement. This should be the reason why you don't like sweets.

Hi Vidhya,
You are right.
Jupiter is present in the sixth house of sagitarius.
Sixth house also concerns with diet and attitude towards food.
Hence my extreme dislike for sweetmeats!

Regards,
Rajji.

Sujit,
Thank god, you did not say Venus rules Gluttony!
Though the person concerned does sometimes dwell intoeating uncontrollably.
Venus with Ketu indicates abstinence while with Rahu it indicates
gluttony.

Regards,
Rajji.

Rajji

Venus with ketu would give health problems. Rahu is related to junk and fried foods.

Dear Astrolady,

That is not necessarily true in its entirety. I've been on Rahu MD since 1995 and that's what has caused gain in my weight. Due to unhygienic food / junk / fried foods.

Hi Vidhya,
effect of rahu and ketu also depends on it's dispositor and the planet it is conjunct with.

Dear Rajji,

Connection of Venus and Saturn with the 2nd H and/or the 2nd L. It gets even better if connection is also symaltenously there with the 3rd H and/or the 3rd L.

In the first case the person may be an excellent cook but may not like the labour of cooking. In the 2nd case the person will enjoy both.

Pl test this on the charts you have.

Dear Swamy Ji,

That is correct! I have Saturn/Venus both highly placed in the 2nd house. Hence, my adoration for cooking.

Thank you so much Swamy kool,Yes I have seen Moon in cancer in the 3rd for professional cooks.
Apart from that what I noticed is- Cancer Ascendants and sagitarius suns make for a Good Cook.
Sometimes Gemini
Mostly from what I have come across the worst cooks are-Scorpio moons with sun in pisces.
Im not sure about venus having to do with my cooking skills coz venus is debilitated!Though the debilitation gets cancelled to some extent.
I am a Cancer ascendant
Glady,I also happen to be a good cook-or at least people tell me so!
People say there is some kind of magic in my hands as the same dish that they cook tastes different! :P

Another way for Rahu and Ketu is, Rahu acts like Saturn and Ketu acts as Mars. Saturn and Mars are tamasik planets and represent any tamasik food including onion, garlic, and non-veg. So Rahu and Ketu are also related to onion and garlic and other tamasik food!

I do not think there is a direct relation between the individual planetary characteristics with the person preferring vegetarian food or otherwise since it is only the net effect which is to be seen and not strength of individual planets.
It would be nice if experts give their opinion on this and as to which planetary combination makes one to be a strict vegetarian and which causes him to be preferably a nonvegetarian and so on.
Thanks,
Dev

I agree with dev.
As per explorings explanation,He meant onion and garlic acting as aphrodisiacs but I dont think eating
non-vegetarian food has the same effect however.
I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.
