Guide to recite suktams from rigveda

The basic purpose of suktams from what I have known is to invoke the power of God on this Earth one of the power and a fierceless power I must say is rudra roopa of shivji. If we recite pancha rudram from rig Vedas what will happen since I am reciting I feel too energetic and I am not able to concentrate my mind elsewhere. I started my shravan fasts since 22nd July so I thought remembering rudra bhagwan will add benefit to my fasts. But I feel remembering shivji in his meditation form is cold and quite enough rather than invoking his rudra personality but does pancha rudram meaning is to invoke his powerful energy?
