Death in family during vratam. Please advice.

Post by decemberchild » 19 Dec 2018

Respected Gurus,
I had taken a sankalp for 40-day vrat with mantra meditation and 1,25,000 japam of Mother Durga. Today is the 10th day. Unfortunately, my maternal uncle (mother's elder brother) expired. What should I do next? Should I discontinue the vrat? Do I have to start over again next year? Or just wait for some days and continue?
Thank you for the help and advice.

December Child Ji,

I think you have started on a Moon+Saturn conjunction day,
afflicted Moon represents an inauspicious day.
ok.

Discontinue the vrat, start again and need not wait one year.
Select a good muhurtha for vrat, espcially Moon must be unafflicted.

@astrostar

Respected Guru,

Thank you so much for your reply.

I had started on 11th December, Shukla Chaturthi assuming it to be an auspicious day. Should I ask someone to remove the puja materials (ghat staphna etc) and send them off on a river? After how long can I restart my sankalp? Thank you so much.

@astrostar Ji, For Cancer ASC with Cancer Moon Sign just like myself it's specified on Internet that any day is good day but even then Saturday must and should be avoided at all costs... but I was born on Sat night with Saturn's star... so in my entire life from birth to death I will have Sat+Moon conjunction ( also Saturn in Trine from moon( ASC lord ) in 1H ) right ? :(

In this peculiar case how to get the right day to start auspicious work... From my understanding on astrology perspective it should be the day when Moon in transit is ,

1)Not placed in Saturn's Star or
2)Not placed in Saturn's Signs
3)When Moon is not in Trine or Square to Saturn
4)When Moon is free from 3,7,10th aspects of Saturn
5)When there is no Moon+Saturn conjunction

Kindly correct me for any ambiguities in my post :(

For Cancer asc, Saturn, without 6,11; if only signifies 7, 8th houses, then,
it is not advisable to select saturn's 3 stars for a muhurtha.

Trine is not equal to conjunction. You don't have SAT+MOON conjunction.
But it is called favorable aspect from Saturn to Moon.

Moon in Saturn's star is not much useful for Cancer ascendant,
when Saturn signifies only 7,8,12 houses.

Answers for the above questions -

1) Moon can be in Saturn star for some kind of muhurthas.
2) Moon can be in Saturn signs
3) It depends on type of Muhurtha
4) Yes. Moon must not be in 1,3,7,10 houses from Saturn
5) same as above 4th point answer

Chaturthi either in Krishna or Shukla, is never auspicious.
Do not begin any kind of new task in future.
It is a highly inauspicious day, and destroys any kind of task.

Yes.

Select any auspicious muhurtha with good tithi, and unafflicted Moon.
good tithis are - 2,3,5,7,10,11,13
unafflicted Moon - not conjoined/aspected by Saturn/Mars/Rahu/Ketu

You can remove the materials after your sutak/ashoucha is over. The period of asoucha will vary depending on the relationship with the person who has passed away. For maternal uncle it would be less than one year.

You can restart vrat after the ashoucha period is over. Consult a purohita for the exact ashoucha period- this is prescribed in our sastra.

@astrostar Ji, what are the general aspects of Rahu and Ketu... till date so many confusions around this concern... also whether such aspects are in clockwise or anticlockwise directions ? :(

Rahu/Ketu emulate
- star lord,
- sign lord,
- the conjoined planet,
- the aspected planet.

So, Rahu/Ketu copy the aspects of these planets.

Their sextile (60°) and trine (120°) aspects are considered good.
Their conjunction is considered bad.

For normal/regular reading of D1, take clockwise.
Because, when considering Rahu/Ketu as True nodes, Rahu/ketu do not go retro always.
Sometimes, they also transit in direct.

Direction is not a big issue.
