Do I need to wear Pearl and Ruby

Hi All,
It was 2007, an astrologer told me to wear a combination of Pearl and Ruby of 2 carat in a gold ring on my ring finger. This was told since I have debilitated Moon in Scorpio and debilitated Sun in Libra.
Though by wearing this everyday since then, I have seen some ups and downs in career and finances.

1) Now my confusion is do I need to still wear this forever?
2) Does this not do any adverse affect during the dashas?
3) Is there any antidote to the weak moon and sun despite gemstone?
