After the death of Indrajit, the grief-stricken Ravana, in a fit of anger goes to kill Sita. At that time, his minister by name Suparsva stops him and advises him to fight with Rama and gain victory. He advises Ravana as
You get the army ready today, the chaturdasi day of Krishna Paksha. Tomorrow is Amaavasya when you should go to fight Rama to gain victory
Amaavasya is good for demons and bad for others. Hence Rama finds it very difficult to kill Ravana.
Lord Rama was tired. At that time sage Agastya appears before Rama and gives the upadesha of Aaditya Hridayam. He advises him to repeat it three times with pointed devotion and that he will kill Ravana now. That was meticulously followed by Sri Rama and Ravana was conquered. Righteousness prevailed over evil.
Even a Purana Purusha, Lord Sri Rama, had to undergo trials and tribulations due to Kaala mahima. Nobody could be an exception. Therefore, we find that time is very powerful. It has no friends or enemies. It goes on doing its work. This can be put under check to some extent with divine help and guidance of a well read guru.
Jyotisha Shastra is as old as Vedas. It is a divine science.
It helps us like a torch light in darkness. This should not be misused.
The Jataka Chakra enlightens one about the cumulative effect of his/ her past Karma. This science is closely knitted with Karma Siddhantha. The result of Punya karma will be peace and happiness and the result of Paapa karma will be grief and misery. So one has to be very careful in his/ her actions. One should take the guidance from our Shastras and proper Gurus before swinging into any action.

Cleansing himself,
By doing Aachamana thrice,
And facing the Sun God,
Lifting his bow
The great hero Rama became very happy

Came he facing Ravana,
For starting the war again,
With all preparations great,
With an intention of killing him.

Immediately then Lord Sun,
Who is the king of the skies
Arose from the middle of the bevy of Gods,
With mind full of happiness,
And asked Rama to kill Ravana forthwith.

Who is forever living,
Who is the essence of Veda,
Who is forever peaceful,
Who is store house of knowledge,
Who is God personified,
Who is the king of gods,
Who is purity personified,
And who has the mind of all the world under his control.

And who is the creator of the morn,
Please give me long life,
Health, wealth, knowledge
And I salute you.

“Oh hero of heroes,
You would kill Ravana within a second,”
Saying this the sage Agasthya,
Went back his way.

Hearing this, the resplendent one,
Became devoid of sorrow,
And with utmost devotion,
Wore this prayer within himself.

Re: Aaditya Hridayam Stotram chanted by Lord Ram for Victory
Very nice info KET Sir,
btw, i have a question regarding Aaditya Hridayam Stotram
Is it okay to recite this Stotram in any MD and AD or do we need to skip it during some particular AD's?
I'm currently running Shani MD and Rahu Bhukti and one of my friend advised me that i should not recite it till my Rahu Bhukti is over.
Is this correct info?
Please enlighten, Thanks!

It is very good to recite Aditya Hridayam stotram daily irrespective of whichever MD or AD running.
With devotion, Sun can be appeased, that is Lord Shiva,.. you can recite Aditya Hridaya Stotram .....early morning (when sunrises ... 5.30-7. a.m) and also at Sunset(around 6.30 p.m -7.30 p.m.), as one does Sandhyavandanam daily three times appeasing Sun and thereby Lord Shiva
God Bless

The following stotra is equally effective in showering benefits of having chanted AH in entirity.
Dhyeyas sada savitru mandala madhyavarthee naaraayaNas sarasijaasana sannivishtaha
KEyuuravaan makakuNdalavaan kreeti haari hiranmaya vapuhu dhritash shankachakraha
Those who explore the meaning will understand who is who and who is the giver of benefits.

Re: Aaditya Hridayam Stotram chanted by Lord Ram for Victory
Even a Purana Purusha, Lord Sri Rama, had to undergo trials and tribulations due to Kaala mahima. Nobody could be an exception. Therefore, we find that time is very powerful. It has no friends or enemies. It goes on doing its work. This can be put under check to some extent with divine help and guidance of a well read guru.
Dear Ket Sir,
A great sentence Sir, very nice of U !!!!

Astrology is not a Science of light, but it is the Science of life
Re: Aaditya Hridayam Stotram chanted by Lord Ram for Victory
Great and profound, but not quite what it communicates. Firstly, Ram is Param Purusha, the Purusha extolled by the Purusha Suktha as Hreeshchate Lakshmeeshcha patnau...etc. He is not adheena to kaala tattvam but its master. During Ramavatar he is putting on an ACT as if he is also human being manushya with karma vashyatvam. But no, reality is his janma is ichcha krita and not karma krita! Kaala tattva adheenam happens only in the case of brahma, shiva and other deva-tantra who have karma krita prakriti sambandam (deham). For eg. Present Chaturmukha Brahma has a life span of 200 kalpa, where one kalpa is half his day. At the end of that lifespan this andam along with its prakriti, kalam, brahma, rudra, etc will be destroyed. Vishnu avatar for this andam will end but parama purusha sriman Narayana will create the andam again with a new jeevatma taking over as brahma rudra etc. This is the cycle of kaala tattvam.P.Srinivas. Any way all this requires guidance of a sattvika guru. One finds a guru only according to one's predominant guna. People that cannot control sexual urge are being worshipped what else will happen?

Re: Aaditya Hridayam Stotram chanted by Lord Ram for Victory
Dear KET
Good writeup. If you look closely you will find that essentially you are reciting the 108 names of Bhagavan Aaditya.
One of the most important lines says “bhootheshu parinishtithah“ ie present in all Bhoothas. Present in the heart hence the hridi ayam of man. hridi = in the heart ayam = HE is.
This samkalpam can bring great energy & vitality.
