Irrespective of sign or placement
The end result of both the planets is identical, boyh are supposed to give happiness to those who are fair for themselves and others.
Saturn is melefic for those who dupe others, make money by cheating, lead a life of vice, too selfish in nature to the extent of tyrannical.
Excessive pride is also a characteristic of Jupiter.People influenced by negative jupiter are so proud of themsleves that they deliberately ignore or make fun of close relations.

What about Jupiter & Saturn aspecting each other in Pisces & Virgo- where each is residing with 7th aspect to each other?

Revribhav,

How does one interpret aspects of planets if Saturn is a functional benefic for a chart & Jupiter a functional malefic?

Thanks!

Indeed saturn is a karaka for the place it occupies while opposite is the result of Jupiter, that is,the place occupied by Jupiter gets reduced (usually outside kendra, that is 1st,4th,7th,10th H).
In terms of aspects the aforesaid results are contrary. That is Jupiter has been considered to have benefice aspects while saturn may have malefic.
In my humble experience,it is seen that saturn may have intense aspect to one of the three places while Jupiter may cause growth to one of the houses under its aspects (at a given time).
We cannot generalize the results of a particular planet for the entire life, sometimes a planet like Jupiter may turn out maraka while a planet like saturn may shower blessings.
About functional results,we have to take into account that the same has to be seen carefully from ascendent, from moon, from sun--whichever one is stronger.

Re- Double transit aspects of Saturn & Jupiter,

KN rao talked about a research in his books regarding roles of saturn & Jupiter. It was I think 6 different researches, where one denied, other facilitated or vice-versa and other different combinations. Does anyone have any idea when & by what name he might have been published this research?

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

JUPITER HAS BEEN FREE FROM INFLUENCE OF SATURN THIS MONTH
THOSE TO WHOM JUPITER IS KARAKA LORD
MAY EXPECT POSITIVE RESULTS THIS MONTH :)

Yes, Jupiter is free from Saturns aspect ..It is in aquarius in retrograde motion but weak in strength.. Jupiter will be weak for the rest of the year..Shud start gaining strength next year when it transits thru pisces and then aries mid 2011 onwards

Retrograde itself has enough strength
It has returned to aquarius,
Aquarius Jupiter in transit is benefic for initiating or finishing long cherished work.

thanks for the reply mr anupam

Now, I wanted to know how do i consider the aspects of jupiter and saturn in a natal chart..eg for Capricorn lagna, saturn is a benefic and jupiter is a func malefic..So,Do i consider the aspects of saturn as benefic and jupiter as malefic in the natal chart and what abt aspects during transits? Say jupiter is transiting a trine/quadrant for capricorn lagna ,will the aspects of jupiter considered benefic then?

thanks

Good Question,

This confuses me too. Also, I understand that Saturn, jupiter put siginificant things in motion when in association in transit. How do you judge that in a chart- which way will saturn & jupiter will react- SH. KNR talked about how one can give the other will stall etc. I am imagining this would be based on positions in birth chart. In a birth chart, suppose they are in mutual association in a certain house, whereas in transit, some other house gets activated, which is inevitable.

How to interpret events at transit, keeping the association in birth in mind.

Anupamji,

Thanks for your great reply. If you could post some more examples to show significant events due to transit of sat jupiter, when one is a functional benefic/malefic for the chart, it would greatly enhance understanding.

Thanks,

Sometimes we get benefits from our rivals or enemies
without their desire to help us
like enemy of enemy is supposed to be one's friend

We ourselves try to do something positive to our friends
but the ultimate result may be negative despite best of our intentions

Same applies to functional benefics or melefics
There is no guarantee of a benefic doing us good
or vice-versa

Hello,

I want to post this person's chart here. He lost is job with the start of Jupiter's MD/AD. You will see what I mean by dual role saturn and jupiter. 10th Lord does not seem to be involved here except being weak.
Placement of 2L in 10th house is supposed to be good here which does not seem to have done him any good.

date of birth 07-10-1971
time of birth 15:40
Place Delhi, india

Is it a case of "karak bahvo nashto"

Thanks!

Jupiter is 8th lord from moon placed in 7th house (house of daily employment)

However,it seems a temporary setback. :)

Would appreciate comments on the below:

During Ju/Ve/Ju period and the day Saturn came,I joined my 2nd company.22/10/2010.. and once again with Saturn on 10/11/2010 I joined my 3rd company in Mumbai.(my new job). Its quite remarkable that during Ju/Ve/Ju period last year the day Saturn transited,I joined my a new company.22/10/2010..

Ju,Su and Ve in 5th house Aquarius..aspected by Saturn...Sun AD coming up in Jan 2011...

To a new direction my life's wheel is turning.
but with my overconfidence size..
Will jupiter make me lean on instead of learning?
Or Will Saturn ask me for a big price..??
Will it give me riches..enhance my earning
Or will the Sun will make me slog out and rise...??

For Libra saturn is considered a yoga karaka
it's aspect to jupiter may not be much harmful
In comparision to 6th house
you may await 7th house transit of jupiter

Retrograde Jupiter keeps all its basic karkatwa
in addition to strength of being retrograde
Since it is 6th lord, during transit
the native may face opposition and health issues too

Dear all ,
Going through the ongoing discussion on the effect of Transit of Saturn and Jupiter, I have noted that ,the whole discussion is about the concentrating on Jupiter and Saturn planets as such , taking no consideration of the house or planet in the range of transit effect. More over the transit effect isonly secondary to the main effects of the strength andpositions of the Major and Sub lords, strength of the houses being aspected and other interactions with or from other planets,
Would invite your attention to the birth chart based on the birth particulars given Hina in her note dated Nov 10, 2010
1-Of course Jupter as 2nd and 11th house lord is in 10th and if not interfered by adverse effect , should have given fianacaik boosting. But-
a)- Jupiter though in friend sign ,its depoiter Mars as 10th is in 12th , eclipsed by Rahu= which some thing undesirable for career prospectus.
b)-Jupiter is aspected by ascendant lord Saturn ,but that is lord od 12th house as well
c)- Jupiter isininmical navamsa as well as in inimical Nakshetra and hence not strong benefic
d)- Jupiter is sapected by Ketu from 6th house by a2th lord Saturn.
e)- From Moonsign –Jupiter becomes lord of8th and 11th , so not favourable.
This justifies the unfavourable results.
As regards transit effect of transi-
a)-Jupiter in Jupter covered Sept 2010 to Nov 2012, but Jupiter entered Pisces , the 2nd house, in mid May 2010, thus mid May to Mid sept , it was period the last period of Rahu dasa ie Mars( 1oth lord)- sub period in Rahu Major period, andboth beingin12th, were capable of making the time worst for the career.
b)- S atutn entered Virgo in in Sept 2009, and being in 5th from natal Moon - was expected to cause trouble ,sorrow suffering and losses ,as it was aspecting10th house. Other wise also, as ascendat lord Saturn in Virgo is transiting 8th house from ascendant nad troubles were obvious inmatters related to 10th , 2nd and 5th houses aspected in trasit.

sirishaji,
Transits are more powerful when crossing in exact degrees in a house. They can make or marr depending on their lordships.Transit through opposite houses can be protective and beneficial depending upon their nature and lordship. Here natal and transit chart are to be superimposed. Results get reversed from retro to direct and vice-versa.
USR
My suggestions are for +ve guidance.Divine blessings are ultimate.
