Difference in Transit Dates?

Post by skrajiv » 28 Dec 2017

In most of North of India, Saturn had moved to Dhanus on 26th Oct 2017 whereas in most Panchangs in South India predominantly Vaakya Panchang used in temples and also in most Nadi shastra, Saturn moved only on 19th Dec 2017. Why is there a difference of almost 2 months (app 60 days). Which is correct and why is there such a big difference in number of days?

Now as an illustration, if a child was born in the month of Nov 2017, where will the Saturn be placed in the Natal Rasi Chart, will it be Vrischika or Dhanus? If Rasi chart itself has so many differences, divisional charts will surely go for a further toss. How to assess predictions in such cases especially with so many differences such as change in signs, house lords etc. How do we reach a consensus?

I see this is especially shifting the Saturn Navamsa by a good 2 pada's causing havoc to the Navamsa chart. There could be differences in the natal chart too when people are born within the period of 2 months when there is a difference.

Saturn moved to Dhanus on 25/26th Oct 2017. This is 100% correct.
All great Astrologers like K.N. RAO follow Drik Ganita Panchang for accurate results.

Drik Ganita Panchangam makers use correct algorithms to get the precise position of stars and use those positions in Panchangam. The government of India has also supported Drik Ganita ephemeris for National Panchang or Rashtriya Panchang and "Positional Astronomy Centre" in Calcutta publishes Indian Ephemeris since 1957.

I personally use KP Ayanamsa.
So according to me, Saturn moved into Sagittarius on afternoon 25th October 2017,
Some astrologers use Lahiri ayanamsa. According to them, it was on afternoon 26th October 2017.
