Makar Sakranti [ Transit of Sun in Capricorn]

In India the festival of '' Makar Sakranti'' is celebrated for years to mark the entry of Sun in Northern hemisphere. Almost every state has his own festival on this day. Most of the time one gets confused why Sun is pious and good in Capricorn . After a lot of search of classical text I came to know that Sun controls the sign Leo , Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Capricorn. Rest of the signs are under the control of Moon[ Cancer, Gemini, Taurus , Aries, Pisces, Aquarius].

For example, for Capricorn lagna, if sun is in Capricorn as the lord of the 8th house, will be still be good and pious?

Sun is pious in Capricorn sign but in case of Capricorn Lagna its the 8th Lord so the effects of 8th lord will surely by observed.
